The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested Ifeanyi Okowa, News360 Nigeria gathered on Monday.

Officials said that the former Delta governor was taken into custody at the Port-Harcourt division of the anti-graft office. Spokesman Dele Oyewole confirmed the detention of the politician to our correspondents by telephone.

Mr Okowa, vice-presidential candidate to former vice-president Atiku Abubakar on the platform of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 general elections, was said to have used his office as governor to loot and acquire assets up to N1.3 trillion.

Some of the assets included massive shares in UTM Floating Liquefied Natural Gas Company, among other investments in the oil sector.

It was unclear whether or not Mr Okowa had contacted his lawyer. A spokesman for the former governor did not immediately return a request seeking comments from The Gazette about the development.

8 years wasted by Ifeanyi Okowa despite huge oil revenue.
Billions of Naira was returned by Buhari to South South States which talkative Wike openly thanked Buhari for. Okowa pretended as if he didn't receive the money.

Wike constructed 12 quality fly over in Rivers State using Julius Berger but criminal Okowa constructed only one substandard fly over in Asaba leaving behind Delta South & Delta Central where he receives huge IGR from Chevron, Shell, Seplat, Saipem, Agip, Escravos LNG Gas plant, Forcados Export terminal and many Petrol Tank farms.

Apart from Lagos State, Delta State is the only State with 3 working seaports. Operators pay taxes to Federal and Delta State Governments.

The turn of Delta North aka Anioma Nation was wasted by Ifeanyi Okowa. Instead of turning Delta North to little Dubai he was busy looting and using Delta State resources to sponsor Athiéfku presidential ambition.

He used sub-standard road construction projects as conduit pipe to loot the state dry.

Delta FAAC allocation is N38 billion, the largest in the country, with nothing to show in the state, no power station, deep sea port railways or major industrial sector.
