Good one. I really commend Lagos (gas powered) IPP from BAT tenure to BRF till now. Most LASG parastatals and big hospitals such as Island Maternity have been powered by IPP. |

McDoe:Being proud of one's state or region is not bigotry. Nigeria is made up of ancient tribes cobbled together by the British. Every tribe should rightfully be proud of their history and achievements. In the same way Californians are proud of their state and yet support the USA. This is the essence of Federalism. What is wrong is denigrating other tribes and people groups. |

Nice one That's what Barth Nnaji did by building Aba ipp If not that lots of antagonism, and bureaucractic bottle necks delayed the project until Gov Oti came on board Enugu state present Governor already partnered with investors to deliver steady 24hrs power by 2025 |

| Re: Lagos Invites Investors For Gas Fired IPPs by slimfit1(m): 6:59pm On Nov 07, 2024 |
Sanwo-Olu should have done this last year. There are companies that have power ships that can install steady power for Lagos within a two months as long as you can produce gas. Gas is not our problem. If Lagos alone can have this companies with their ships in Lagos with more than 1000 mega watts they can seen the excess to other state power outage will be a thing of the past, lots of power is lost in transmission. |

BreconHills:California is proud of their state, but they do not denigrate others like you Ronu miscreants always do. Stop playing ostrich on this. |
| Re: Lagos Invites Investors For Gas Fired IPPs by naijaking1: 7:28pm On Nov 07, 2024 |
BreconHills:You summarize why no sane investor will ever do business in Yoruba land. Denigrating others should never be the official policy of any government - local, state or federal. The California you mentioned is a state screaming and encouraging people to come, settle, vote, and invest in the state. On your side, you denigrate, insult, terrorize and now want investors to come and put their money in your state? Then, terrorize them when their business begins to prosper, or they simply want to vote as citizens. |

I was expecting something like this from others governor, to open their state for ipp investors, in time of estate, power plant ,etc |

| Re: Lagos Invites Investors For Gas Fired IPPs by BreconHills(m): 2:13am On Nov 08, 2024 |
McDoe:That would be a mistake. Utopian thinking usually involves the eradication of history in favour of some group identity or ideal. It always fails because it still produces an under class and ruling class. Nigerias problem is a class issue not a tribal issue. The educated elite have always held the mass of people in disdain and never thought of lifting them up to a level of independence and self worth. This is the problem not ethnicity. Look at our disdain for people who are poor or who fall from grass. You hear things like "poverty is a disease" " fake it till you make it" etc. Look at our love for stuff to propel ourselves up the social ladder. In my estate gate men salute cars not the individual. The bigger the car the more hefty and vigorous the salute. No ethnicity is not our problem. Our class warfare is the problem. Class warfare may involve the weaponization of ethnicity but it is not the cause. Remove ethnicity and the warfare will find something else to use. Let every Nigerian have an equal and upward path to success and watch social strife reduce tremendously. Thank you for the way you framed the question |
| Re: Lagos Invites Investors For Gas Fired IPPs by BreconHills(m): 2:27am On Nov 08, 2024 |
naijaking1:You are mixing things up. My point is that ethnic pride and bigotry are not the same. It is also true that bigotry can involve ethnic abuse. Most minds cannot hold two opposing truths in balance. They live on polar extremes. But these extremes are not truth by definition. Two things can occupy the same space without cancelling out each other. Light and sound for instance. If I am proud of my history as say an Ekiti man, how does that denigrate the Benin Empire or the Nupe? If I say however that the Nupe or Benin are inferior to the Ekiti then that is bigotry. I get it that people are being influenced by the current twitter wars and connecting it to events like the civil war. But this not mean we should cancel out ethnic identity. It is lazy thinking. As I have said elsewhere to understand Nigerias social Strife you must look not the weapon but to the underlying reasons. In my opinion our problems is class warfare and the struggle for resources over that weaponizes ethnicity. Unfortunately most people do not get that they themselves are class bigots. |

naijaking1:Awesome! Good point. |
| Re: Lagos Invites Investors For Gas Fired IPPs by naijaking1: 4:52am On Nov 08, 2024 |
BreconHills:Boss, first of all, ethnic pride is good for all tribes, no matter what others say about them. So, I agree with you that there's nothing wrong with Ekiti or Yorubas celebrating their culture and tribe! However, if they interfer with other tribes celebrating their own culture, then that's a problem. Dictionary definition of denigration is unfairly criticizing someone or people. In every day life, people denigrate, joke, and make fun of each other. Unfortunately, when highly placed individuals make it a point to denigrate likely opponents based on tribe, it escalates to trauma, because ordinary followers of the politicians misunderstood and misapply these statements. To kill a dog, you first call it a bad name, or denigrate it. Some yoruba folks had no problems attacking their Igbo neighbors during the elections, because a large amount of money has been spent denigrating Igbos in every way possible. Denigrating a group of citizens should never be the official policy of any government. Lagos state has unfortunately been known for sudden yoruba nationalism secondary to Tinubu's political expediency. This has both short and long term consequences. |

naijaking1:You lot are way too emotional and childish and I don't know why that Breconhills is indulging you people. Perhaps because he cares what you think whereas I don't. Start by telling us which region attracts the most FDI by far, foreign direct investment, into Nigeria year in and year out and we talk. Lagos you are attacking childishly, because of election issues unruly and hateful Igbos caused for themselves, singularly attracted over 80% of Foreign capital into Nigeria in Q1 2024. Obviously your stupid election outburst and gaslighting has had no effect on the capacity of Lagos to be Nigeria's top FDI destination by far. Meanwhile 34 States of Nigeria, to include all you five plots of Land, failed to attract any FDI at all !!! Only Lagos, FCT and Ekiti drew foreign capital into Nigeria in that period yet you and your fellow disgruntled haters are here yapping nonsense. See below. https://www.thecable.ng/lagos-fct-attracted-3bn-foreign-investments-in-q1-2024-34-states-recorded-zero/ You lot should grow up and learn that where folks are talking facts, you people should leave emotions and sentiments aside to talk facts also. No one needs you're emotional, childish and churlish talk, on every topic that is driven by your hatred off others to the extent you always want to use every issue to proclaim them as bigots who have problems whereas you people are the biggest bigots of Nigeria with the biggest problem in and out of your five plots of land. As I said, it is Breconhills who has time for you petty, spiteful, vindictive and hateful lot who don't accept it is only you who have problems everywhere, for very obvious reasons, you then try to pass off as a general problem to divert scrutiny from your terrible, bigoted, insultive and uncouth behaviour that lands you in trouble with everyone and everywhere to include even nations outside Nigeria like Thailand, South Africa, Ghana Etal. See fact below so you and your fellow Vampires can disappear from this thread. https://www.thecable.ng/lagos-fct-attracted-3bn-foreign-investments-in-q1-2024-34-states-recorded-zero/ |

mrvitalis:Bitter hater leave matter for Mathias. Mind your own five plots of land wahala. A person from a region where not even a single State attracted foreign capital in Q1 2024 is not sensible enough to understand the most buoyant and most well-organised State in Nigeria would have done her due diligence homework, that will cover gas supplier, before asking for expression of interests from investors. Hate and bitterness, aside from the fact it is eating you lot up inside, is always making you Biafrans appear very eenvious, ungracious and bitter alway. https://www.thecable.ng/lagos-fct-attracted-3bn-foreign-investments-in-q1-2024-34-states-recorded-zero/ |
| Re: Lagos Invites Investors For Gas Fired IPPs by UltraSolid: 6:59am On Nov 08, 2024 |
naijaking1:Emotional, petty and empty hater, kindly read the article below where "bigoted" Lagos alone pulled in over 80% of the capital inflow into Nigeria in Q1 of 20024. Only FCT and "tribalistic" Ekiti join Lagos in attracting Foreign capital into Nigeria in the period. Whereas 34 States, to include your "welcoming, virtuous, saintly, accommodating and tolerant" five plots off land, attracted no foreign capital at all. Despite you lots toxic and bitter hatred of Yorubas it is advisable you make you talk make factual sense and conform with reality instead of spewing incoherent and senseless garbage most know is driven by hatred and envy for others. https://www.thecable.ng/lagos-fct-attracted-3bn-foreign-investments-in-q1-2024-34-states-recorded-zero/ |
