yinkeys:I thought Onyedika is playing in Belgian league…..Osimhen scored in Europa yesterday and Dessers scored where?….I remembered Balogun Aribo and Bassey do get call up then playing in the same Scottish league? |

yinkeys:KC is a waste of space no business being in the SE . I don't really rate Josh Maja but you cannot argue with his current stats. He is the current second highest goal scorer in the championship with 8 goals after 14 games in the Championship. KC scored 5 goals after 25 games in the championship last season. What should be the basis for selection, historical past glories and or current outstanding performance in club and league 😲

Subzerooo:But VO stats in the Turkish retirement league have now become the benchmark for quality football ⚽. The hypocrisy and double standard here are limitless. |

zicky:I Dey wait for Yinkeys response…..sincerely I don’t rate Dessers but telling me he does not deserves eagles based on Scottish league football then he missed it….he brought Arokodare to the discussion but forgot that Onyedika is playing in Belgian league. National team invitations are not only meant for EPL,la liga,Seria A,bundesliga and Ligue 1 |

Subzerooo:Sir you remember we do have then Balogun,Aribo and Bassey from Scottish league in our starting eleven. Are you saying Sadiq,Awoniyi and Iheanacho do deserves eagles call ups than Dessers at the moment |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by yinkeys(m): 9:16am On Nov 08, 2024 |
komekn:Tbh there’s bias when local coaches are in charge They’re trying to keep some of the guys that played u17 for Nigeria Iheanacho, Awoniyi, Chukwueze, Osimhen to be specific You may be right, some guys may not be called up unless they get a European/foreign manager who would minimize sentiments when enlisting players I won’t be shocked if a foreigner drops Troost Ekong, but NFF will fight for his position Umar Sadiq & Victor Olawoyin are the players I don’t think deserve to be invited I don’t see any issue with the other names Dele Bashiru has not been playing regularly for Lazio but he’s earned his spot based on South Africa & Libya games |

You keep overlooking his SE form which is what I've always harped on. Outside Osimhen and Lookman now no other SE player has scored more goals for the national team over the past 3-4 years. Club form gets you into the national team your performance for your country keeps you there. komekn: |

komekn:The Turkish league is rated 3 places above the Scottish league in the latest UEFA coefficient,so you have no point.. Circumstances, not choices took Osimhen to Turkey... |

Honestly! Arsenal and PSG in particular it was very obvious they needed a big reliable 9 but they were penny pinching. If it's to buy one unknown Brazilian or Eastern European player for 80m their accountant go loss. Odunayaw: |

komekn:You know why Osimhen ended with Galatasaray and if he choose to leave by January, good team will come for him. The Spur he bullied yesterday ain't playing in Turkish league, an EPL club.. That speaks of his quality... |

yinkeys:Hmmm local coaches?Keshi convinced Balogun,Ekong,Ikeme,Hope Akpan….Siasia gave Iwobi and Anichebe needed opportunities….Bashiru got it rolling under local coach…Semi Ajayi made it through John Obuh…..local coach would have given Eberechi Eze eagles debut that Rohr messed up. |

Fact is Dessers deserve a call up. If bias fon enter this thing, it becomes a basis tomorrow for another stale argument which keeps on adding more nonsense. It is a different thing if he isn't in form. Form is key. I dunno why this simple thing has to generate brouhaha. It will be a much better pov if we say AE doesn't fancy him than all this league this, league that angle used abeg. Ya using SE show up for Nacho, but Chuks has never showed up this entire year yet he keeps getting invites aspa AC Milan or what? Abegi. Let's be honest here. |

mekabuachi:This thread is predominantly to discuss eagles so nothing wrong talking about the team list, yes there are questionable invites and from time immemorial it has been like that whether na local or foreign coaches |

yinkeys:Good, that's why I laff when people say iheanacho should be drop because he's not playing, they was a time Musa was not seeing game at Leicester, fans cried drop him drop him. We all should accept you can't just drop a player that has been part of a team for say 5yrs just like that. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by ChrisKels: 11:29am On Nov 08, 2024 |
Icardi is out for the season, and that simply means that Osimhen is not leaving Gala in January, otherwise their title hope fades away. Osimhen is doing one full season in the Turkish league. |

Even with Icardi available, Osimhen was never leaving in January. He confirmed so himself in a Video in the mixed zone after a game. ChrisKels: |

Musa's loss of form for Leicester happened in the run up to the 2018 WC. If Rohr had listened to people like Komekn God knows if we would have scored a single goal let alone win a match in Russia. zicky: |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 12:26pm On Nov 08, 2024 |
Francesco Totti didn't lie though. He kept his word to not play for any of the other Italian big sides. Said he would never leave Roma too. Edinson Cavani also kept his word not to play for any other Italian big club aside Napoli before he left for PSG. And he rejected them all again before he joined Man Utd in the EPL. I understand your angle but the Henry scenario is different. He had served Arsenal and was underrated because he didn't have a UCL title. He had to change his words when the opportunity came. Osimhen scenario is that of using GALA to escape Napoli's hold. This is why this is different. Also, where Osimhen said this was not even an interview. He said it in passing after a game in the mixed zone. Not even mainstream media escalated it as much. And truth is although stories change in the twinkle of an eye, the point remains, Osimhen has more chances of finishing the season with GALA and getting his move in the summer than actually making that move in January AS THERE IS NO CONCRETE POINTER TO ANY BUSINESS LIKELY TO HAPPEN IN JANUARY at the moment. From what I have read, GALA wants to buy off Osimhen from Napoli by January so that they will get the 75M euros for Osimhen either in same window or in the summer. Osimhen's options aren't obvious now but he is mostly focused on playing his football and keeping his value high. Everything is still geared towards Osimhen getting back into mainstream Europe (The Big 5). elyte89: |
