Ogun State Government @OGSG_Official has partnered with the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) to train stakeholders and technical staff of the Ministries of Environment @Moeogunstate , Ministry of Transportation @OGSGMoT, Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA),Vehicles Inspection Officers (VIO), and Fire and Safety Officers on the impending massive conversion of PMS Vehicles to CNG powered vehicles in the State.

This is a follow up to the state's adoption of CNG buses and E-bike into its transportation system which is in tandem with the Presidential Initiative (Pi-CNG)on energy transition to cleaner and alternative fuel.

Speaking at the workshop, the Commissioner for Environment, Mr Ola Oresanya @dejioresanya said aside from the advantages inherent in the conversion of vehicles to CNG powered vehicles which will lower the cost of transportation, it will also reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality.

With the partnership and training, Ogun State is determined to consolidate on its pioneering role of institutionalizing safety procedures for CNG vehicles retrofit (re-kitting) and leading the way in the use of CNG powered trucks and electric tricycles nationally for public transportation.

This is a bold move by d Ogun state governor, it's a step towards d right direction.

Some people will not tell their governors to emulate same n do reasonable things now but when it materialises n it turns to success they will start claiming they are responsible for d development

They develop everywhere but when e reach to develop their region cement finish

Malaysia have banned CNG cars , these are cars even directly from manufacturers o.

Nigerians are being forced to locally convert its cars with our quack mechanics ,just because it appears like an easy way out of government irresponsibility.

What happens to CNG price when we all rush CNG?I remember when LPG gas was cheap and we were encouraged to convert our generators to LGP... today 12.5kg is 19500 naira .

What happens to your CNG locally converted car if truck jam you for back ?

the whole world is phasing out CNG vehicles due to safety concerns and even Tinubu himself has said over his dead body he'll never convert his vehicles to CNG but here we are.. The politicians pushing y'all to use CNG, how many of them are using CNG?? Fix electricity let's switch to electric vehicles no way. We are always going backward in this country angry

When Malaysia is already phasing out CNG-enabled automobile? Who con do us like this? I do know they want to make money from this before it suddenly becomes obsolete. Your leadership is what you are as a nation...either a forwatd-thinking one or otherwise. Largely, those who put them there are on same pedestal.
