Hmmm. Good question I booked 9 weeks I don’t think it should be a problem as long as you declare birth. They already know u will spend minimum 8 weeks. Mamabella: |

Good day, I have been off this platform a long time. What brings me back is this, after birthing my daughter in 2017, I applied for a visa renewal via Dropbox and I was called for an interview. At the interview the visa was denied, this was in 2019. Reason it was denied was questions around the cost of my daughters birth, though I took my zero receipts etc. in between then and now we had our son in Naija. Now I am applying for a visiting visa , the part on the form that states ‘ reason for previous denial’ My elders, what the best way to respond to that question in the ds-160 form . Help a sister |

LovedAgain:Being denied under Section 214(b) is sufficient to include in the column. In my opinion, there is no need for further explanation, as they do not provide a specific reason for the denial; they only offer a generic reason on the document. |

Summerbutterfly:Talking about trump era. I gave birth in 2020, and renewed via drop box in 2022 and also renewed via drop box again in 2024. I went for F1 visa interview this year and the interview was going well, until it got to the part where I mentioned that my child is a citizen. The woman just changed her face and asked how, I said I gave birth in America and she asked when and how long I stayed in the hospital. I was shocked that she did not know that I gave birth in America because I applied for medical visa and also declared at the point of entry. She also asked how did I pay my bills and then she said she was going to place me on admin processing. I was told to send my receipts and statement from hospital to them. I honestly did not know they would ask for medical bills since I had renewed my visa twice after I gave birth, so I did not bother going with it to the interview. I sent it to them and my visa was approved. So if you gave birth in the past and have renewed via drop box, you may one day be called for interview because they must put it on your record that you have paid your bills. |

Mamabella:Not sure the veracity of this news but I'll recheck . However if you are in the US via a visit visa your ARE NOT IN THE US ILLEGALLY. please let's be clear. If however the length of stay granted you at the border. Typically it's to limit of 180 days per.saty. If you have exceeded that time then you have OVERSTAYED. Another caveat if at the border the CBP restricts your stay to less than 180 days then if you stay more than that time you have OVERSTAYED. So this news as you have posted it is for them to get details on your stay. Show your visa, that's all. Since you're paying cash you are not using public funds as a visitor. |

Mamabella:If you’re within the timeframe of your visa stamp by the cbp you’re not illegal in the USA so this does not apply to you. This news is for the ones without legal status( visa overstay, entered via the fence without visa, etc) |

POE Alert for yesterday via JFK airport- New York. I want to share a POE alert for my third missionary journey. I had previous trips in 2015 and 2018. My first visa was obtained at 32 weeks for birthing/medical purposes. I am currently a UK resident, and my last visa was renewed in the UK via dropbox. I flew with Icelandair at 36 weeks and requested wheelchair service. Upon arrival, I was wheeled towards CBP, who was smiling. CBP: "Passport, please." Me: "Handed it over." CBP: "Please look at the camera." Me: "Did as instructed." CBP: "Mrs. Bleep, you are visiting family?" Me: "Yes, I'm visiting family for holiday and medical reasons, everything..." CBP: "Continues smiling (not sure he heard all I said)." CBP: "Do you have the address you are going to?" Me: "Yes, I provided the address." CBP: "Stamps passport and hands it back to me." Me: "Have a nice day/night." CBP: "You too." Me: "I picked up my luggage and joined my family, who were already waiting." I am en route to El Paso, Texas, by the weekend. Wishing everyone going on this journey soon a smooth entry like mine, by God’s grace. |
