This was the main reason GEJ lost my support. He depleted the foreign reserve, he also depleted the ECA or sovereign wealth funds, all when oil was selling at all time high. That ECA/ sovereign own pain me well well, because I knew what OBJ was trying to achieve with those funds. Those funds was supposed to serve as a buffer when oil prices fluctuate to help create some sort of stability. That was how the concept of oil price benchmark came to be.
