I hope Multichoice Nigeria won't end up like Nokia. Their greed will surely ruin their business. You cannot expect Nigerians to be buying 1k per litre fuel to watch your over repeated movies.

Your customers have been clamouring for pay as you view module, instead of you to listen, you keep bribing the lawmakers, let see of the lawmakers will force Nigerians to pay for subscriptions.

Children are now watching their cartoon on their tab or their parents phone.

Adult now prefer Netflix.

Multichoice Nigeria should start preparing their handing over because boys are not watching football as before self.

Inosky:
What do they offer?
Can one watch football matches there?
It's internet protocol tv,i.e streaming of tv channels via internet on Ur smart tv or phone.
Of course, thousands of tv channels all over the world are available including premium DStv channels.

It's best enjoyed if on unlimited data plan, even without that, 200gb should do per month depending on frequency of use.

Re: Multichoice Nigeria Loses 243,000 Dstv, Gotv, Subscribers In Six Months by DiamondsAreFore: 6:51am On Nov 13, 2024
Nigerians and bushman mentality.

There's nowhere in the world where pay as you watch exists for digital satellite TV.
The only solution for DSTV is to go the way of Netflix and Amazon Prime and go full broadband Internet.
They've already started doing that with Showmax.

Digital satellite television has never been a metered service unlike electricity and telephony, so the idea of charging per second is unworkable in that medium.

Ttalk:
They should just pack one side with their extortion. Until they they change subscription to pay as you watch, they will continue to lose customers with their contents that promotes promiscuity over educative programmes
Re: Multichoice Nigeria Loses 243,000 Dstv, Gotv, Subscribers In Six Months by joseph1832(m): 6:53am On Nov 13, 2024
With the the way they increase their subscription fee and blame everything of inflation, you'd think they believe Nigerians can't do without them, when in fact, today, people don't really need tvs, all they need is an Android phone and lots of data.

What am I doing with DSTV, when I watch football matches on my phone and Netflix is there for movies.
Social media is there to follow politics and entertainment.

Left for me, multichoice will be like people selling movie cassette

Don't forget your poor business and customer service .

I was cut off from many channels while the subscription was still active. Called and nothing was done about it till it expired.

All the channels became active again post expiration.

You still have a good business model that many would pay for. But ........

They should continue increasing prices for their packages. I don't even see the sense in increasing price and losing customers.Keep the price low,and retain your customers.
.... when the environment is not conducive for bussinesses, DSTV to thrive..the high exchange rate..1,730 naira to a dollar...high costs of fuel, disel.. to operate and run their generator, lack of electricity power supply, multiply taxation , high electricity light bill...all this affects bussinesses and this will cause bussinesses to increase their price so they can stay in bussiness and survive the hard economy and bad economy..so it's federal government to provide a conducive environment for bussinesses to thrive

The truth is that rising costs of food, electricity, and fuel aren't the only factors causing the slump in subscriber volume for DeeSTeeVee in the country. Even in the developed world, cable television is seriously experiencing a massive decline as more people embrace IPTV and other streaming platforms like Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, Max, Apple TV+, Paramount+, etc. I'm of the belief that the owners of DeeSTeeVee should even be thankful that the level of internet penetration in Nigeria is the way it is at the moment. Otherwise, that number being peddled would've been way higher.

In any case, if you have access to a reliable and unlimited internet access, I ask, "what on God's green earth are you still doing with DeeSTeeVee?" The world has left you behind with IPTV.

Globad:
Don't mind them

They're blaming the loss of customers on inflation

Meanwhile, Netflix is growing under the same inflation

Who are they deceiving?Wrong comparison, Netflix is in the class with Showmax.

So many people are not happy with their pricing model on which they even repeat movies and shows without an opportunity to choose what to watch when you want it

They should create a means where people can subscribe and view to their channels using smart phone and sim(forget all these thier dual view ans so on). and at a very cheap rate too... They will get back their customers in no time.

The future of TV is on smart phones and portable devices. Majority of adults these days don't watch TV except during news or sports.

They just buy it for sake of their children and visitors
You can view your Dstv and Gotv on your phone with showmax,Dstv now and Gotv now app

Showman is main streaming service of MultiChoice, but DStv has DStv Stream and GOtv has GOtv Stream.
