What could be the actual reason for no ID yet from Lagos consulate, is there anything we can do? It’s really frustrating
Re: USA Employment-based Immigration (EB-1,EB-2,EB-3 Visa) by uduafemhe24: 4:45pm On Nov 07, 2024
Yes, what you can do is to take two tablets of patientomicin three times a day for the next 60 days. Hopefully, we will have some goodnews by then.

Consulates schedule on their own basis.

They are not obligated to work at anyone's speed but their own.

Besides the more people apply for E based visas the longer the queue is since these visas have visa caps world wide.

Fortunately employment visas are traditionally not a focus of immigration restrictions so a new administration would not affect E visas.

Family based migration and H1b however might not be so fortunate

Isn't H1b an employment based visa?

Waiting Room of Hope

In the waiting room of dreams, we stand,
A thousand wishes, hand in hand.
With eyes toward doors that seem so near,
Yet days turn to weeks, but we're still here.

Do not despair, though time feels slow,
For seeds of patience always grow.
Each step, each breath, each whispered prayer,
Reminds us why we’re standing there.

The road feels long, the wait unkind,
Yet strength is born in heart and mind.
Hold tight to hope—it's fierce and bright,
Guiding us through the longest night.

For every soul who holds this space,
Endurance is your silent grace.
The Lagos doors will open wide,
For dreams that we hold deep inside.

So lift your head, breathe in, believe,
The day will come when we’ll achieve.
Stand firm, stay strong—our paths are clear,
In hope, together, we persevere.

Well it is, however H1 b and Family based were mentioned quite a bit in his last administration so I don't think it will fare well in this next administration.

"Normal" may be considered an oversimplification of the issue. In the last year, The new DOS administration started applying progression in Priority date to quarterly increment to reduce see-saw forward movement one month then retrogression for few months. The reason is mostly due to inconsistent data flow from various arms of the immigration process.

That said, January visa bulletin may see forward movement. The degree of forward movement in Final action date for upcoming months depends on backlogs and whatever criteria department of state may decide to go with.

Thank you for the clarification. So we expect movement in the January visa bulletin. Hopefully it will jump by two months at least.

Thanks for the clarification. The trend started last January, 2024 and it moved for like 10 months or so. I expect the DOS to follow that trend for at least movement by 6 months. Though this depends on the backlogs from various US embassies.

A friend's father filed for EB5 visa and he has been DQ since March 2024 but no IL despite visa category current in visa bulletin since then. Any advice on steps to take to schedule interview?

Brother, folks DQed in January to December 2023 are still very much around, no ILs from Lagos. We wait. But, soon enough, we will smile. Keep hanging in there.

Yeah, Patience is truly a virtue. On my part though, will give the process another 3 months, if this backlog of no IL persist past 2 year mark of DQ, Cancellation of petition will be my next move to head for Asia-Pacific alternative. It just means N/A was not meant to be my abode grin grin

RFE Issued: Birth Certificate

Folks, please I need help here. I just received an RFE from USCIS regarding my 485 AOS application. They need an acceptable birth certificate document. I submitted a declaration of age with my application, but that document seems unacceptable. Please how do I get an acceptable birth certificate? Thank you guys!

Go to National Population Commission(NPC) website https://attestation.nationalpopulation.gov.ng/welcome using your NIN to get attestation letter. It's just 3k for paid via paystack. You get it within 10mins using your NIN. Without NIN, it's very difficult. This is a sample and I believe it can suffice. Please note that this attestation letter is only for those born before the birth registration enactment of 1992. It's a birth certificate for those born after the act of 1992, still on the site. Good luck

Interesting suggestion, not for me though. The UK is pretty much Dogwater in the scheme of things for long term projection (Population growth, earning growth, and geopolitical Power structure of the future) as an immigrant in my field. Moving to the uk is like playing checkers when your peers are making 5d chess moves.

To the haus, It seem the consulate will be going ahead with the 2 visit approach (document review and interview) for everyone starting January 1st 2025. This program was beta-tested earlier this year with a few applicant in the family immigrant section. I have attached a screenshot I came across this morning. It seem to have been updated on Nov.6th. Cheers to a new week!

Please one more question. Do I need to get it signed and stamped at the Nigerian embassy or do you think it will be accepted, since I just printed it from my computer? Thank you
