Eguaveon just ruined his chance and chances of local coaches. No team play, only individual
brilliance of Chuckwueze got us the goal. Boniface is not just it, Ekong exposed, he needs Bassey to cover for him, Okoye could not take the chance, Onyeka playing like farmer..for me, I miss Zaidu
Thank you Libya for the Greek gift, we may not have defeated them at home..
Nawaa ooo on top a dead rubber game.

For crying out loud,he qualified us for the AFCON with 2 games yet to be played. So, our last two games of the qualifiers was inconsequential as we've already secured qualification for the Biannual show-piece.

If it's any sort of consolation, this is only the second game the Super Eagles have lost in 23 AFCON Qualifier games, and both are at home.

Nigeria [0]–[1] Guinea-Bissau
Nigeria [1]–[2] Rwanda

No be setup. We are already in enough setup. We can as well drop our fifi imagination cos it's best that way. But to miss out twice from the WC will really wrap up the entire imagination, expectation and any -tion.
For now, we just need the best technical hands to flourish.
Missing WC no be because of force majeure or an "i-never-experrerit"

Na that elusive "tactical genius" go still make us miss another one.

See wetin I just dey talk today. Our world ranking is in the mud, this loss dey definitely throway us go 40th or even 42nd seff 😡🤧

Morocco dey use first squad play dead-rubber games, dey win Lesotho 5–0 currently at 47 minutes.
Same Lesotho wey we draw 1–1 for WCQ last year 😭
You're right. We're definitely dropping points on the rankings.

As a matter of fact, the Rwandan Coach just said that his team is made up of mostly homebased players who are BENCH WARMERS at their clubs.

So not only did we lose to a team ranked 126th in the world, we lost to team full of mostly HOMEBASED BENCH WARMERS that are ranked 126th in the world. All thanks to Eguavoen A.K.A You know Guardiola? grin

Nigerian Fans base: a base that doesn’t wanna see super eagles lose any match😂🤣.
You lose to Argentina “change coach change coach!!”
You lose to C.A.R them go scream “change coach change coach”!
One player put a decent shift in Europe they will clamour “bring him bring him”!
The player fails to show up them go shout “rubbish player rubbish player”
This coach is defensive and conservative bla bla
This coach doesn’t strike confidence in me.
This keeper is doing well in italy, he should be our number 1, with strong clamour boom!! we lose “he is not ready”.
Nwabali errooor!! Nwabali is gooooood!!
Sanusi is a carpenter!! booom! I miss sanusi
Oh no i miss days of Mikel/Enyeama/victor moses
boom!! mikel weakling midfielder(plays back pass alot)
Victor moses is too proud and doesn’t like to relate with his team mate…boom!! boniface is a comedy-footballer

Make Nigeria get 10straight wins…1 small loss will have fans defining the team’s future and present….
Defensive/attackminded bla bla bla
UNA NO DEY TIRE!!!
like this we should not even play WCqualifiers we cannot win any match again.
Eguavoen is whack!
bring back jpes no sack him bring back rohr..are you mad? when we have Amunike.( Amunike lose 2 matches with heartland, he becomes the highest carpenter coach).
most confused fans base in the world
We are suppose to clap for them when dey lose match?
No fan base want their team to lose
So any super eagles fan reacting this way is totally okay

Said on October 11.⤵️ About time we get finally serious on this Creative dept issue. We get coaching to sort out and the team's concentration level but this has stayed an issue for years. Na until Iwobi break leg or get ACL na im we go understand say we got nobody for that creative dept??
I could count like 3-4 instances were Iwobi would have released a pass to create a chance, Fisayo did something else
Fisayo is not his deputy at all
I don't even think Fisayo should play except we need goals
That's all he offers that we really need
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by EEGA: 9:30pm On Nov 18, 2024
Moffi>>>>Boniface.

The latter has about 3 goals to his name in Super Eagles colours.

Boniface is yet to score in about 8 apps for the Super Eagles.

Give Arokodare and Akpom a chance.

I will definitely show up here whenever we get match. that one na must sha.

na wa i for no vote but I had to vote against the nonsense wars. As the matter dey now e be like dem wan escalate the war by force oh

Players have their bad days. But what i've seen from the reviews here, it's more of a defense/goalkeeper issue. let's cut the boys some slack. that can be easily addressed because we know our main men at the rear. Not to say we dont still have work to do with midfield and attack. We need to make those areas more competitive.

TheSuperNerd:
Mehn, would be sad seeing you lock up away from Super Eagles matters but I understand. It is well. I trust the US elections outcome meet you well. 😂 Just take it in your stride.

And to your question regarding today, I will be honest.

Fisayo - Not good.
Onyedika - Good.
Alhassan - Good.
Onyeka - Decent.

It is well, my good man. More power as you face your projects and other pressing matters. Indeed we have stuffs more important than football anyway. 🤝🏻

P.S: Hope to see you come around at least at some point again and again.

TheSuperNerd:
You know, playing for Lazio doesn't make you a world beater. Some players have the luck in career progression to be honest.

Right from when I saw Fisayo Dele-Bashiru play, I knew what kind of midfielder he was. He doesn't have that creative aura. E no dey him legs. He doesn't think or play or moves his body like a creator.

His playing profile and on pitch body language is to receive a pass, find the nearest easy pass and he tries to run into space in advanced areas to receive again so that he can use his Ball striking to great effect.

Fisayo has a powerful shot in him, but he is not your Iwobi deputy. He cannot create like Iwobi because he doesn't have the onfield vision and pausa of a consistent chance creator. What a poor interpretation of the role he had today.

Fisayo >>> Iwobi in Ball Striking

But Iwobi >>>>>>>>>> Fisayo in everything else required from an advanced midfield player.
Fisayo Dele Bashiru is not built for individual brilliance football which is what Eguavoen has turned the team into.

He is a one touch offensive midfielder. He needs the forwards working in synergy for him to shine. Unfortunately, we do not play offensive tactical plays regularly. This hinders his strenght.

If he had used fringe players or home based lads, it is understandable but losing to Rwanda with our top Euro based professional is unacceptable sir. Apart from Benin, which team did we win convincingly?

The reasons behind our loss to Rwanda

Some of the players are playing together for the first time, especially the midfield players.

Poor interpretation of player strengths and roles
Deploying a flat midfield three that has FDB occupying the left side of the field. This is a tactical mistake borne out of a very poor interpretation of FDB's skills and how he wants to play. Midfielders plying a flat three are excellent in tackles and duels with good vision and nice distribution of plays.

Kelechi Iheanacho has not really clicked when occupying wider areas in attack. It is looking like a failed venture. It was tried at Sevilla to no avail until he was switched back to his conventional central position.

Poor player drills
Our interpretation of space, positioning and quick decision making, needs lots of work. Ekong's long passes needs to be curtailed, Onyedika and Alhassan are good at long balls. Our long balls should come more from the midfield.

The defence should understand the importance of positional discipline, and allow the midfield to shoulder more of pushing the ball towards the more advanced areas of the midfield (Ekong should take note of this). The defenders should understand that their primary role is to defend.

The Amavubi have more mentality and urgency,
They showed no sense of inferiority, we were even little in their eyes. With all our exposure and transfermkt value, we fail to assert mental superiority. We need to understand that mentality is more powerful than skill.

Any coach that will work with the S.E must find a way to integrate Alhassan into the starting line up.
Alhassan has a lot to give.

He is good at duels.
He is good at ball distribution.
He can dribble.

I knew there is now way we would play Benin and Rwanda 4good separate times and we would now beat them for that 4good separate times?….habaaa where does that happen…shey na club football?
you are playing a familiar foe
AfconQ 2times
WCQ 2times
and y’all feel there wont be a misconception, slip in concentration, tactical let down, costly mistakes?…
Like y’all wanna meet
Rwanda AfconQ/WCQ4times and beat them 4times?
Benin AfconQ/WCQ 4times and beat them 4times?
even Brazil, Argentina,England,Belgium cant meet us back to back 4times and take 12points from us…there must be a slip up some at some point

Better to lose to Rwanda, Benin, South Africa, Lesotho now than next year when world cup qualifiers start.
Now we know who is who.
AE knows that there is serious work to be done. NFF can decide to bring in a foreign coach now (though I think time is short) or we can leave AE and reorganize that technical department by bringing in Siasia as assistant.
I advise we also bring back Ahmed Musa and this time let him play as creative midfielder like Iwobi.
For our defense, it's time we bring in Adarabioyio, Tourinagha, Udokhai into the mix.
Final question. Can we still convince VicMo back to SE?

Sometimes you need severe criticism to become better.
We have every reason to demand and expect more from our players.
We have players with better skills and exposure, we retain good reasons to bring our team to censure when they fail to yield proper results worthy of their estate.

Look at Ivory Coast and tell what would have happened, if much was not demanded from the team at the just concluded AFCON.

Individual brilliance
We aren’t playing like a team with synergy ready to go to World Cup
South Africans play like a unit.
We are in serious trouble.
We may not qualify for World Cup
They need to get an expert that can solve problems
Someone who knows African football properly
Not a mediocre coach
Osho is below par, Ndah would’ve been better
Okoye didn’t control the defense, 1st goal was not his fault. Simon conceded free kick in a dangerous area
Where are the Okoye fans, you’re happy now right
We have no tangible replacement for Ekong

I can swear that Our U20 boys can do a better job than the overhyped media-pampered players we paraded today

Except for sure starters like Osimhen, Ademola, Aina, Bruno, Chukwueze and impact sub players like Simon Moses and Iwobi..why don't we just take a leap of faith and rebuild with our academy youth players from beyond limit and Sporting Lagos? some of our best young talents have come from these academies and have produced players like K
Kparobo Ariehi, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro etc.

The Iwobi/Ekong/Ndidi era have outlasted most previous generation of players yet have largely flattered to deceive under different coaches...I doubt even Pep Guardiola can make any difference with these guys. Let's keep only 40% of this squad and fill up the deficits with new players from our U20 team and Beyond limits academy.

Keep only:

Osimhen
Ademola
Chukwueze
Moses Simon (impact sub)
Aina
Iwobi
Onyedika
Bruno Onyemaechi
Nwabali
And maybe Bassey (who needs serious competition cause his place isn't safe right now).

Ekong has served us well but he has probably just one more tournament left in him before he honorably retires, then the likes of Ndidi, Iheanacho,.Osayi etc need to be phased out as they are just deadweights and squad fillers than quality options.

We need a complete rebuild in defence, midfield and attack and we have quality young talents brewing in our successful academies in Beyond limits and Sporting Lagos right now, a quality scouting program should integrate and easily transition this new players into the Super Eagles having passed the eye test of our youth football before making those transitions. It's ok if we miss out on future tournaments. But we need to have capable replacements for Osimhen and Lookman etc ready before the next world cup in 8 years time (cause we won't qualify for this one next year, no point wasting our time). Osimhen, Iwobi, Lookman, Aina and the core of our current best players will soon hit 30 soon and will probably retire sooner than we think in a few years time.

We have new generations of players emerging in Arierhi, Clinton Japhta of Enyimba, Akinsanmiro, Ojediran, Obasi Onyebuchi, Izunna, Daniel Daga etc...time to start preparing these boys for the future.
