If you must propose publicly, it’s better to do so in front of a few close friends or family members—people who won't embarrass you if she says no, and who won’t let the moment go viral, as happened with this young man:

A young man was left stunned when his girlfriend refused to accept his ring after he went down on one knee to propose in public.

Surrounded by a crowd, he hoped for a yes, but she declined the proposal for reasons known only to her. Despite the onlookers cheering and urging her to say yes, she firmly said no. In disbelief, the man removed his sunglasses to look directly at her, but it didn’t change her decision.

Men, always be sure she is likely to say yes before proposing in public. This will help avoid rejection and the kind of public embarrassment this man experienced.
