how sir...I got an email today that rates are around 20% max for one year.. see the attached file...

Please where did you get 28-29% info from sir? I am completely lost...it's my first time though
That's Secondary market, at auction where you can get up to 29% YIELD, you need 50m+

And its possible the rate they gave you is discounted rate, go to CBN site to get last week stop rate

You don't need 50m+ to get yield of 29%

Are you sure it's the last for the year?

It shouldn't be. It may be the last one on the year's calendar but another first quarter 2025 calendar is likely to carry the auction dates for this December.

Then go to another branch. Or another bank. First Bank, Stanbic e.t.c.

Some of the people you meet in some of those banks don't know any better than you.

When they send treasury bill related mails from their HQ, most of them don't open it.

Most of the experienced bankers left the banking job these days.

Those guys u see are new Into the system nd there are no experienced staff to walk them through. So they don't know anything nd they might not sooner.

Global market is very broad nd if u r lucky to have experienced account officer u r lucky.

My account officer told me am not qualified for quick credit, but I later got the same quick credits through the same bank via the manager.

Cash is King right now. This rate is unprecedented and it's likely to inch up if MPC tighten at the next meeting.

Risk free money dey sweet at this rate , if a lot of cash dey. Especially if you have good cash flow and you are compounding.

Swears. Had to come out of retirement and pulled funds to invest. I don't see the naira depreciating to N2,200 a dollar within the next one year.

Prayer is for this bonanza to continue well into the coming year.

I see naira crashing big time. 30 percent seems sweet, it's a sign that we should be worried. This is clearly not sustainable in the long run.
