A close look at the list below would reveal to anyone paying attention that those are many of the same chemicals found in the other foods that you eat without a second thought, with the vast majority found naturally occurring in fruits and vegetables we all consume regularly.

Noodles aren't bad.

Instant noodles - Indomie et al. contain a lot of MSG, salt and chemicals.

Certainly not what a child should be consuming at such regular and copious amounts.

Saying a lot, but saying nothing. Yes, it's true noodles aren't a great option for kids, but would you mind actually going into specific details about the kind of chemicals present in the spices and why they are bad for kids. This isn't a good way to present a great message.

Infact, it's very likely there are even worse chemicals in other food options. What food do you want to give kids these days that don't have horrible chemicals in them? Even the cerelac that's often given to little babies have horrible preservatives that are not good to consume in excess. I wouldn't say to rule out noodles completely. I would rather say to consume these foods in great moderation, but to favour veggies above all because they provide the best nutrients for human growth.

Those who can't afford noodles will believe this story because they're looking for excuses to justify why they've stopped giving their children noodles for school meals. They don't want to admit that it's due to "sapa" and "Tinubulation".

Be careful with this conclusion. For instance, not every American food is accepted in Europe. Asians have a different body system that may not be the same thing with us, this is why it is best to first eat the food around you before going outside.

Also, Indomie is not the most popular brand for Asians. Indomie is from Indonesia, it was never in Nigeria 30 years ago. remember 2 minute noodles? That one was so popular when it was introduced in the early 90s. Indomie's biggest market is Nigeria and it is not the most popular brand for Asians. There are other brands they are used to depending on the country they come from in Asia. We have had a situation where Ajinomoto, despite its ban is still used in the North. What is dangerous about the noodles? It is not the noodles itself but the ingredients and this is what nutritionists are concerened about. Noodles is made from wheat. The other thing they add, if you say we have not seen the effect, that is because you have had it for only 20 years. Parents never used to give their children noodles to eat as a staple in the past or as lunch .

The Asians consume MSG a lot and still live longer than Africans that munch akpu and amala. As a matter of fact, MSG was first "produced" by the Japanese. Ajinomoto comes to mind. Everything is about balance.
