It is crazy how some want to rewrite football history to make it look like Cristiano Ronaldo didn't have talent but achieved everything through hardwork alone.

This is the most silly argument of all time about a player who has earned his rights in every bloody sense to be mentioned among the GOATs of the beautiful game.

I rate him below Pele, Maradona & Messi in my GOATs list but God damn it!!! Cristiano Ronaldo was a beastly talent at a young age. You dare not insult his beginnings by saying na only hardwork him use make am like say he didn't have the pure talent. That is absolutely bonkers of bonkers.

Rodri and whoever else that is trying to limit Ronaldo's undeniable talent scope which eventually blew up into world class quality is being an untrue student of the game.

No one is saying CR7 is not talented but it did not come naturally. He had to work hard and train to build the talent.
there is no such thing as talented but not naturally. You either have the talent or not. Which type of talent is unnatural sef? Your arguments dey always dey one kind.

grin you posted something that says that the things that didn't come naturally to Messi he had to train and yet you cannot see that about CR7 too.

I think I have explained enough on this. Anything I say is just repeating myself.

"He was seven or eight when he first came here. He came with his father," he said. "It wasn’t easy to get the ball off him. He was very small, but he was always playing football. He never stopped. He was always playing, at home as well."
Andorinha played mostly seven-a-side matches back then and Ricardo recalls one game in particular when Cristiano was forced off at half-time.

"I don't remember exactly how many he scored, but he was almost always our best scorer," Santos said. "I remember a game back then that we played in Camara de Lobos. We were winning 3-0, Cristiano Ronaldo went off injured and we lost 4-3."

And he added: "Ronaldo was called 'abelhinha' (little bee) because he was small and he was very quick, so we called him 'abelhinha'."
Nice post. Didn't know this perspective interesting to know and gives a different idea of Ronaldo.

This guy literally called C.Ronaldo "untalented" and that he lacked "natural talent" unlike Messi.
You actually agreed that CR7 lacked natural talent

I always saw him as a kid that learnt and not naturally gifted.

This is what I consider natural talent.

That's to say CR7 is the most intelligent player or human on earth to be considered one of the GOAT by just learning.
So next,
who did he learn from
Who's his teachers/coaches that taught him all he learnt.
Why are other players not going same route by learning and becoming the best.
Is Rodri talented or he also learnt.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by jihday(m): 3:34pm On Nov 23, 2024
TheGoodJoe:
I think Rodri was totally misunderstood. Rodri believes CR7 was not a naturally gifted kid. I understand that because same was for me. As a young kid, I used to even miskick the ball. I couldn't dribble or mark to save my life.

Then came Amunike. I used to study Amunike intently and tried to replicate the things he did. I used to spend long time on the field training alone.

Then came Celestine Babayaro. I learnt marking die hard from Celestine. I had personally recorded matches. I didn't miss Nigerian games to watch these guys on different periods.

They made me and I learnt so much. The icing was Overmars of Ajax. I learnt and practiced to become a good player. Still regret the offer of Coach Monday Sinclair to work with him today. He personally approached me and said he wants to groom me. I was more the school trajectory and turned down the offer.

So the "unnatural talented kid" became a guy that the person who groomed Finidi George and Richard Owobokiri gave a grooming offer to.
do you know what it means to start for Portugal at 18 years of age? Portugal not Azerbaijan o

Ronaldo was a natural talent. Even the great Fergie saw that as much in one game before he pulled all the stops for Man Utd to sign him.

Alex Ferguson's eye >>>>>> Rodri's opinion
They played a preseason against Lisbon, Neville Ferdinand and co were amazed by what they saw and told Ferguson they must buy this boy

"We would also see him work relentlessly on his free kicks and he would tell us about something he had seen somewhere, and he wanted to perfect it, and he would work again relentlessly until he did... Nicky Butt, former CR7 teammate.

Messi would not need to work relentlessly on the training pitch to become one of the most awesome free kick takers of all time.

That is the difference.
Ronaldo scored his first freekick at 17/18 (against Portsmouth in 2003) while Messi scored his at 21 (2008) if Messi didn’t work on his how did you think he learnt how to play it? In his dreams?

There were things I couldn't do until I learned it by mastering the essentials and training on it repeatedly. So what do you think that was?

There are kids that could not juggle the ball at all. However with multiple training they become excellent ball jugglers.

So what do you think?
the fact that you are comparing yourself dey kill me grin 😀

Alex Iwobi's 3rd EPL Goal of the season is another beauty. Iwobinho with a left footed strike from a little outside the edge of the box from the right half space.

His shooting seems to come alive when he plays as a wide creator.
