Why?

The Bible (Acts 20:35) says It more blessed to give than to recieve yet people around have mastered the art of recieving alone. They seek the highest possible reward for effort but give the least possible when in position to.
Many even use witchcraft and espionage to know who is going to be having what and whatnot just to position themselves to recieve things.

Why are vast majority of Christians like that?

Because they find it difficult to do what they preach.

Whatever evil insinuations you are trying to make is already futile for first they are humans placed here to be happy and to enjoy the good in this world.

And secondly, blessings are still a receiving.

The fact that God commanded giving does not mean a person must give till he has none. And it is not that you do not know this is but your love for evil that will burn you up.

That is what the Bible teaches. Not what man teach. Over the years we find man fail to live up by this moral standards, Not just Christians , others religions too.

But because this good moral standards was found in the Bible, the op just single out only Christians

You didn't get the sense of what Paul said in that verse!

Jesus Christ RECEIVED GIFTS from people {Matthew 8:15} his apostles RECEIVED GIFTS from people {Luke 10:3-7} and Paul who wrote what you just quoted also RECEIVED GIFTS from people.

So believers in Bible times often receive gifts from their fellow worshipers {Act 11:29} that's what Paul is encouraging Christians to continue doing among themselves.
And of course true Christians (Jehovah's Witnesses) are still doing so till today.
A good example is what rich brothers and sisters and others living in rich countries shared to support those in need during COVID-19 lockdown!
