Have Nigerian Parents Stop Taking Responsibility? by helinues(op): 9:36am On Nov 24, 2024
The government are known to be failing, not something new but the real question is are Nigerians parents failing in raising future generations that will turn things around for good.

The politicians, should we say they lack good parenting hence not doing the right thing?

The Oloshos, yahoo boys, the criminals, who are their parents? Did their parents deliberately stop taking responsibility?

The community producing everything would be questioned later but for now, are the Nigerian parents failing?

Parents need to do better... We all have to be better.

Some people will tell you that it's because parents no longer flog or whip their kids...

They will even blame teachers

Were Yahaya Bello, Bobrisky, Phenomenal, Dino Melaye, Arobaga, Ekpa not flogged

It has never been about flogging

At a point in time, Pekin must go out (leave the house for a while). And when a child goes out, he mingles with corrupt friends, no matter how well tried he is from home, it takes the grace of God for that child not get corrupt too.

Those corrupt friends, do they fall from the sky with no parents?

Nigerians need character sanitation, from the old to the young across all tribes.
Re: Have Nigerian Parents Stop Taking Responsibility? by XerXers: 10:07am On Nov 24, 2024
Failed parenting started from Tinubu s parents who abandoned him while he fled from iragbiji to Lagos for street drug dealing. Today he is a Yoruba God. So other parents in Yorubaland care less

In as much as parents have their shares of blame, putting some factors into consideration breed these corrupt children without solely putting the blame on them (the parents).

Pekin must get access to the internet in this 21st century. The parents don't follow them about and tell them site to surf always. Some random soft porn advertisements could pop up while the child is using the internet you could attest to this as well. Even when you tell a child not to do somethings, curiosity makes them give a trial. Before you know, boom... e don happen. Music, films and some articles don't help matters as well

I know but everything still leads back to good parenting.

We are all tempted to do some things that are abnormal in the society but like in my own case , whenever I remember my mum's message in precisely ( Ran ti Omo eni ti o n se) meaning always remember the son of who you are , that alone na brain resetting not to sow the family's name in the mud

You see, we are talking about general national issue but you want to be tribalistic with this

Why are some of you just like this. Likely you can't have any healthy conversation without involving tribes, party or religion

It's shameful

Some deluded and stupid set of nigerians voted for and supported a useless political party and its representatives for over 10 years running, this same political party members are the ones in charge of ruining our once manageable nation BUT in some really crazy people's minds IT'S THE PARENTS OF THE POPULACE WHO HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH GOVERNANCE THAT ARE TO BE BLAMED undecided

It's like i will waste today trying make this type/line of reasoning make sense to my own brain 🤔

My self as an example, I grew up in a very notorious environment (military barracks in 90's). But my parents particularly my dad, is a well disciplinarian whose children behaves. He did all this to us with the help of his cane "koboko". With all this, Pear pressure made me started smoking when I was in elementary school and dad no code. With all this, I still have to know my level because of fear of cane.

I later attended public secondary school where cane (bulala) is order of the day. You don't have choice then to behave yourself. That was where l stopped smoking because if you are caught in that act, you don die... grin

What do we have today? Society don change. Cane (bulala) is tag as bullying now. Then days, your child fit do wrong, na another person go beat am for correction and you the child's parent will even appreciate the correction. You fit try am now make that pikin father no call police for you? Even parents no dey like to cane pikin now because of what society believes in.

What a good question coming from you. This question should be for you.whr did your parents go wrong. You have refused to do anything meaningful beside wasting every day on this nairaland. At what point did they stop taking responsibility or you refused to be a blessing to them.Do you hope to be a parent someday with this lifestyle .Go get something doing no matter how small even seyi Tinubu has something doing before politics

I respect alot. I was also thought to say the truth no matter what s at stake. And the first truth is biafra agitation is beyond any man dead or alive. The only thing that can stop it is when we embrace equity and justice. Then the second truth is you waste on nairaland every day on another man business which contributes to his cash follow. And sit at home is a way of peaceful protest since when they protest on the street you arrest and even kill someone. I am a biafra just like you have an oduduwa or an arewa. .
I am a biafran but not a member of ipob.Ipob are people within biafra /igbo who have decided to form an association which requires registration to be part of that association. The first identity I have is being an igbo or biafran which is only possible
by blood.I can be a nigeria by other definition beside blood.

As far as this topic is concern,OP needs to be truthful to himself.

If not failed parenting why would anyone be a certified bigot, who has refused to be matured and have some rethinking.

Ask ur parents this...

What do you expect, when tinibu bad government have succeeded in making the number of out of school children to skyrocket without remedy and hope. How can you give your child/children good parenting, when you can't feed them and give them proper education?

Tinibu has reduced Nigeria to nothing.

I learnt to be disrespectful to hypocrites like you. No one taught me to be disrespectful.

The bad behaviors you display, did your parents teach you?

Were you taught hatred for other tribes as well?

Let's start with you. Why did your parents refuse to inculcate the spirit of working in you? Why did they allow you to be idle and jobless in life? Why did they allow you to be wasting away your life and time on nairaland everyday? Why is your mom still feeding you at the age of 49? You have refused to work and be useful to both yourself and your family. Why, why helinues? Too many questions begging for answer. In fact, what exactly is your purpose in this life sef?
