Prices of gas and food went up exponentially during that time partly due to corporate price gouging and the effects of covid on the economy. Those prices are coming down now. Gas in some places is already down to 2-3 dollars per gallon (something that didn’t happen during trump’s presidency. Yet they are screaming “economy economy”. They don’t believe in fair wages or unions protecting workers. They claim it’s cheaper to live there so they don’t need to pay well (story story).

But even adjusted for cost of living they are still beneath the so called expensive blue states. As someone who’s been in several coasts of the US, I’ve always had more money in my pocket at the end of the day living in a blue state. When you are a professional making $60k a year for example and then overnight your income doubles or triples just because you moved to a different state (no added qualification), that one extra dollar you’ll pay per gallon of gas or milk won’t make it even. You’ll still have more money regardless.

They claim blue states have a lot of homeless people and crimes but they pack their homeless people in the middle of the night and come dump them in the blue states because they know we have social programs designed to help the poor and lowly. By so doing they over stretch the programs we do have and then turn around to make a mockery of the situation.

If every state took initiative like the blue states, the problem would be evenly distributed and no one place would appear to be riddled with homelessness and crime.

What they really want is for people who can’t afford to live be put in private for-profit prison where they are used by mega corporations for slave labor.

Have to be honest, a friend called me out on this when I complained about a homeless encampment near my alma mater. I immediately felt foolish.
She asked me what Jesus would say or do.

And I realized it was odd that so called Christian Republicans are the ones fighting not to help Homeless people while Blue State Dems do everything in their power to.

So State laws trump Federal laws in areas the Constitution doesn't specifically grant that power to the Federal government.
And the Federal courts take a while. Just need one Federal Judge to put a hold on it until it winds its way to the Supreme Court. And that can take a while to reach the Supreme Court. Not saying they will agree given the makeup but the time will help run the clock out.

For legal citizens and legal citizens with means, it's less of a worry.
It's going to be harder for immigrants on Visas or waiting to get their Citizenship or people without means.

They don’t believe in fair wages or unions protecting workers. They claim it’s cheaper to live there so they don’t need to pay well (story story).

But even adjusted for cost of living they are still beneath the so called expensive blue states. As someone who’s been on several coasts or the US, I’ve always had more money in my pocket at the end of the day living in a blue state. When you are a professional making $60k a year for example and then overnight your income doubles or triples just because you moved to a different state (no added qualification), that one extra dollar you’ll pay per gallon of gas or milk won’t make it even. You’ll still have more money regardless.

They claim blue states have a lot of homeless people and crimes but they pack their homeless people in the middle of the night and come dump them in the blue states because they know we have social programs designed to help the poor and lowly. By so doing they over stretch the programs we do have and then turn around to make a mockery of the situation.

If every state took initiative like the blue states, the problem would be evenly distributed and no one place would appear to be riddled with homelessness and crime.

What they really want is for people who can’t afford to live be put in private for profit prison where they are used by mega corporations for slave labor.

Homeslessness is not a result of illegal immigration. Most illegal immigrants already have a place to stay before they come even if it’s a subpar place. Some of them might end up homeless at some point but they’re by far not the majority.

Homelessness is primarily a result of lack of mental health care and disability. Red states are notorious for lack of access to affordable comprehensive health care. More than half of homeless people have a disability or mental health condition. Then High cost of housing is the second closest reason.
