Happy weekend nairalanders
So, I've come with loads of questions for young married men in the house

To this effect, I need upright and experienced answers devoid of negative sentiments

So, as a young family with less than a month old baby, of course there will be need for us to wait for at least, 3 years before developing a thought of making another baby.....


It is however normal and medically necessary for a nursing mother to abstain from sex during the entire period of breast feeding and nursing the young baby.

At the other end, a father/husband who has nothing to nurse but ensure basic provisions of needs and care for both the mother and her baby may have a need to crave for sex during the period.

Now, without fornicating,for how long can a man wait for the wife to be physically fit to engage in marital sex and how can this be achieved without cheating.

Some friends says they wait for 3 months before engaging their wife in a protective marital sex again. But when I mentioned 2 years to them, they all bursted into an uncontrollable laugh 😂. They stressed that even women would not hold it for that long.

So friends in nairaland, come to my aid..

And once again, my questions are directed to married and young couples in the house...

1.5 month would be okay.

I waited for 2months.

My wife gave birth with no complications so it's unnecessary waiting for months before knacking......

It’s only medically necessary to wait for 6 weeks after a normal uncomplicated pregnancy and birth.

Additional wait time might be necessary if there was surgery, trauma or other complications associated with the pregnancy. If none of that is applicable and the mom feels up to it, after 6 weeks you guys can get on with your bedmatics.

Breastfeeding doesn’t prevent sex

3 months is ideal.

Six weeks is fine.

1. First of all, there is no truth to the claim in bold(and red). Second, every woman's situation is different. If a woman feels she can begin having sex right after having a baby, she can do that except the doctor outrightly advises her not to for health reasons. I used to know a gal who would jump right into bed pretty much the day after having a baby. She did this after her first and second and had no problems of any kind. Yes, doctors advise women to wait four to six weeks but that has not stopped many women from jumping right back into the grind, some even the very same week.

2. Many times nursing mothers have similar cravings but put that aside for one reason or the other. I see no reason why the man cannot equally be expected to make a similar sacrifice after all the child at the center of the issue is equally his.

3. It takes self-discipline for single and married men alike, and married and single women as well. I see no reason why a married man should not be expected to exercise the same level of self-discipline his married wife is expected to exercise for one reason or the other.

The key at the center of all of this... for both men and women... is self-discipline/self-control, something that is less and less stressed among more and more African men and women alike these days.

8 weeks is enough for your wife to resume her conjugal obligations to you. Where are you getting that two years rubbish from?
