What Disaster Did God Create? Can Disaster Be Good? by AntiChristian(op): 8:58am On Nov 24, 2024
Isaiah 45:7 reads "I form the light and create darkness; I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things."

Some disaster are reversible while some are not. For example, losing wealth is reversible but not losing kids!

How do we relate the verse above with Genesis 1:31 "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

1. Can disaster be good?

Check Job's story he was righteous in Job 1:1 and ended up being tested.

He lost his health, wealth and children!

This disaster was too much as the dead children couldn't be replaced!

2. How was the disaster good to the dead Job's children?

3. Can we say all the disaster we see are created by God? If no, how do we know which disaster is created by God or not?

Can you explain away the OP's three questions?
Re: What Disaster Did God Create? Can Disaster Be Good? by Kukutente23:
Muhammad was the disaster created by God
It's obvious if you read the bible well

John 17vs2
2They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service 3And these things they will do [a]to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.
Muhammad claimed fighting people of the book (Christians and Jews) was doing God's service.
Today we have terrorists all over

So to get the answer to your question is to ask if Muhammad is good. Once you can answer that, you have your answer

It is only God the Lord most high that can create...no other God has that privilege.
Those disasters include psunami, earthquake, landslides...etc. God is nature and nature is God.
In my opinion, those things happen to remind us that this earth is not our home.
The story of job is not a real story but allegorical meant to teach us some basic truths and principles one of which is that God is sovereign over all creatures and creation and that satan does nothing without an explicit permission from God.....

Oh rememeber that the God of the bible also instigates lies in heaven.

The entitlemen mentality he also bequeathed Jews still exists today with Israeli terrorism and genocide.

In fact, the God of the Bible created racism. No one else did.

And this -

https://www.nairaland.com/438941/yahweh-again-deut-7

However, in the cities of the nations the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. 17 Completely destroy them -- the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites -- as the LORD your God has commanded you. 18 Otherwise, they will teach you to follow all the detestable things they do in worshiping their gods, and you will sin against the LORD your God. (Deut 20.16ff)

What kind of God is this?

Just a common mass murderer - a detestable, bloodthirsty evil ritualistic one for that matter.

We need to ask, as a follow on to the OP's questions in the thread about the lies, if the ontology of the Jewish Deity is something that rational people should be proud to be associated with.

It is ridiculous for example, the amount of matters (some of them quite petty)for which Yahweh prescribes death by stoning -

1. For touching Mount Sinai  Exodus 19:13

2. For taking "accursed things"  Joshua 7:1-26

3. For cursing or blaspheming  Leviticus 24:16

4. For adultery (including urban despoil victims who fail to scream loud enough)  Deuteronomy 22:23-24

5. For animals (like an ox that gores a human)  Exodus 21:28

6. For a woman who is not a virgin on her wedding night  Deuteronomy 22:13-21

7. For worshipping other gods  Deuteronomy 17:2-5

8. For preaching the wrong religion  Deuteronomy 13:5-10

9. For disobeying parents  Deuteronomy 21:18-21

10. For witches and wizards  Leviticus 20:27

11. For giving your children to Molech  Leviticus 20:2

12. For breaking the Sabbath  Numbers 15:32-56

13. For cursing the king  1 Kings 21:10

Does this not reek of a barbaric pagan deity issuing extremist injunctions?

The story of Job is a story of how sadistic Yahweh is when he wants to masturbate in heaven over the suffering of his followers.

Here are five researched arguments that suggest that the Old Testament God took no smack from anyone and definitely wasn't subtle about it. You would do well to fear this entity:

1. He's got no qualms about killing babies to punish their parents: He lets the people of Samaria know that their "little ones will be dashed to the ground" for their insolence (Hosea 13:16), the same for the children of whoever is "captured in Babylon...Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes" (Isiah 13:15-16). And let's not forget what happened in Egypt to all the firstborns -- including livestock! (Exodus 12:29).

2. He doesn't appreciate anyone even simply making fun of his bald followers: In 2 Kings 2:23-24 a group of youths accost Elisha on his way to Bethel and started making fun of him and his baldness. Elisha cursed them in the name of God and then two bears came out of the woods and shredded all of the youths to pieces.

3. He doesn't like whiners or complainers much, either: In Numbers 11:1, God becomes so angry about the people complaining in the camp that his anger literally becomes a fire that burns them up. And in Numbers 21:5-6 when the people complained to Moses about bringing them out of Egypt to die in the desert with no water and food, God sends "fiery serpents" that slithered among the people and bit them causing many to die from the venom.

4. He is no stranger to genocide: There are many examples of how the God of the Old Testament wiped out entire populations in seconds including many who were presumably innocent, such as when he has his angel kill 185,000 men in an Assyrian camp in just one night (2 Kings 19:35). He also delivers up Sihon and his land and people for the slaughter and no one was spared -- not even children. In fact, he makes a point of saying that the only things spared were cattle -- because they could use cattle (Deuteronomy 2:31-35)

5. He has rather unpleasant reactions to male and female sex organs: For women, he pretty much always suggests rape as a form of punishment. Moses, in Numbers 31:17-18, relays God's commands to the people to kill all the boys and all women who have slept with a man but "save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man." This sort of advice is found all over the Old Testament. For men, he preferred tumors and boils on their genitals (1 Samuel 5:8 -9), and let's not forget David's tally of two hundred foreskins of Philistines in order to marry Saul's daughter (1 Samuel 18:27).
