Ebonyi State government has approved the ceding off of the the State-owned Radio and Television Stations, the EBBC, to become an independent outfit.

This was contained in a release made available to newsmen by the state commissioner for information and state orientation Jude Okpo after the state executive council meeting on Monday where he noted that the Corporation will become a Public Liability Company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC.

The commissioner further explained that the decision of the state government is aimed at raising the productivity level of the corporation as well boosting accruable economic returns to the State Government and noted that the same applies to the Ebonyi State Newspapers and Publishing Corporation, Nigerian Patriot.

He also pointed out that this reform is not in any way tilting towards sacking any member of staff of the establishments but is a move to re-jig the outfits towards making them fully independent, business-oriented and self-reliant.

On a low, this governor is the best governor at the moment. No noise propaganda, but just getting the job done silently. I want him to massively invest in rice farming. Ebonyi has a comparative advantage in that; don't know why they are not exploiting that massive potential

He is investing in human capital development. I also saw that he is fostering an anti corruption and efficient environment in government offices. Performance mustn't be about empty inflated uneconomic projects that rot away while people languish in poverty and lack of enablement

Route from agbani Enugu state to Ezza north is a death trap already. Same from ezilo

The State should not be running any business.... but regulate them. He's cleaning house .... setting up an environment that's good for business ... will attract investors and foster competition. Many will rate him only if he builds flyover....and worship him if he completes two.
