His arraignment before a court in Finland by the Finnish authorities was to get a remand order to have him detained pending when he will begin his trial proper.

The "content creator" excuse is what Simon Ekpa told the Finish Police during his interrogation.

At no time was a plea entertained during his arraignment in court talk more of him offering a defense before the judge as the reason he was arraigned in court was to seek a remand order pending when investigations will be concluded and charges filed in the appropriate court.

The Fins are prosecuting Ekpa following several petitions and complaints filed by the Nigerian government at the highest diplomatic level.

The Nigerian government had since stated that they will be monitoring Ekpa's case going forward.

Ekpa being a Nigerian born citizen, the Nigerian government through the Embassy in Finland has every right to be furnished with Ekpa's criminal investigation and trial.

As at now, Ekpa is only being held, an has not been charged with any offence
