Wanted to start a page to discuss and track issues on the new AVITS site regarding Drop Box and Interview Waiver issues. My mother qualifies for drop box but everytime I get directed to Consulate Appointments. Even the interview waiver letter has not yet been received.

I know others have complained of the same issue, and I though it would be good to have one central place to discuss and track the issue.

Apparently the issue is with choosing ‘empty’ when asked what annotation is on your previous visa .If you want to qualify for IW on the avits site when asked for the annotation,select ‘waiver’ .I heard this has worked for ppl.
You’ll need to pay again to be able to redo this step so a new appointment can be booked tho .

Is there a chance canceling the “wrong” appointment and scheduling a new could work?

You forfeit your visa fee if you cancel your appointment .You’ll have to pay again .

This is the same issue i am currently facing. However, creating a new application has the duplicate application issue as well. I really don’t know the best way around it. It is just stressful with so much financial implications. What is the way forward? How do i go around the duplicate issue with a new application?

Change a number on your passport .That solves the issue

Your passport number is on your ds160 form already so not really .There is no other way around the duplicate applicant issue for now .Avits ppl don’t know what they are doing .

When you changed and rebooked , you were able to pay using first bank I presume and got your receipt uploaded in 24hrs , in the new profile ?

Hi I guess lots of us have same issues. Probably because choosing empty in the Annotation question. Please is there anybody that has solved this problem? I tried sending an email but I was directed to fill out the google forms. But can not find answer to this problem.

So I created a new account for my mom and selected waiver and it worked. My issue now is the selecting a date for submission. Nothing in December. Only end of January. Has anyone seen anything earlier for Lagos?

Thank you for the information. Although, I have asked on the other thread, did you pay another visa fee? If not, what did you do to the initial interview appointment? Also, did you change the passport number on the newly created profile?

I paid another fee but didn’t change the passport number.

Good morning. Do I need to use another email address to create a new account, before making a new payment to get the Interview waiver and do I have to pick an interview date and cancel? to avoid double registration. Do I use same DS- 160?

Since I was directed to physical appointment and not IW. I have not picked a date yet . The appointment is still pending. Do I pick and cancel to enable me pay and start all over? Thank you

Also, the top of the calendar is saying consulate appointment. Is this right for Dropbox

My dashboard has also auto generated a POST appointment letter but all info is blank. I’m just so confused, I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing.

Please any solutions?

Did you cancel the initial scheduled post appointment? Im trying to schedule a new appointment but getting an error related to duplicate applicant found for user.

So, have you created a support ticket for this or did you find a way to get a nearer date?

Good Morning Peacefulone. Did this happened after paying again? Did the letter show Interview waiver? I want to cancel my appointment and pay again hoping to get the Interview waiver? Please has anyone with this issue been able to resolve it.

Did you try using your original account to create a new appointment after canceling?

Did you end up finding a solution? I am in the same boat. The calendar is greyed out for Lagos, however, there are dates in abuja for Jan 2025.

Has anyone made use of the site recently. After reading through the thread, I have decided to pay another fee but I can't even get past the "Choose a Post" page. This has been going on for days now. What exactly are they doing with the new website?! This stress is unnecessary.

If you did not cancel your previous appointment and you try to start another one with the same account and for the same person. You'll get stuck there. Happened to me. To get past it, you'll have to cancel the previous appointment.

I cancelled the previous appointment before starting another one but I have same problem. I have raised a ticket and sent a mail. It is over a week still not resolved

I already cancelled my appointment but can't get past that page. The whole new website thing is totally annoying and a waste of time
