Why Is NIGERIAN Economy So Dead For An Oil Producing Country by babasolution(op): 11:04pm On Nov 29, 2024
Traveling around LAGOS today,I noticed something remarkable ,the whole city, even in so called highbrow areas is in total dissarray.

Ikoyi is a dump, even with massive building construction on going all over ,it felt so fake, like it's a fake wealth on display because all around the area is messed up.

I don't just see the pride Yorubas have in Lagos, there's nothing to be proud of,if this is what TINUBU is acclaimed and praised for then it spells serious danger. LAGOS is one big dump.I can't imagine what foreigners will truly think out the place.

Yet other states are far worse off.

How come an oil producing country that has been on the top production in Africa for 50+ years be so fxcking messed up.What were the men that built this country thinking.

What is fxcing wrong?
How can blackmen stomach this
How do Nigerian elites sleep with such massive degradation of society.

What is really happening among black men of Nigeria.

This is a sin before God
For blackmen to leave your society this way is a sin

Not just Lagos State, even where u come from is a dumpster.

That is why when I hear the purported critics of Lagos State, one cannot but imagine other than Abuja, the dumpster states that they are from.

They fear the truth…. That white people created and named Nigeria and they own Nigeria till date….
Can black people go to Europe and create a nation from different European tribes and name it Amala Republic?

Of course they cant…

That’s the koko or the matter..but they dont want to hear it out of fear …. Fear of actually being serious about nation building instead of enjoying the pleasures (Hennessy, wigs, g-wagon, gucci, ashawo life) from the Western world….

The problem with Nigeria, is that a lot of people take it as "not their papa property" hence they do as they like, no real patriotism.
If the country were to have been left to have various regions managing themselves, you will see how people will make their region work because if they don't nobody will do it for them.
I keep saying that the UK have various countries that share same ideology of life managing themselves. They are doing well.
Nigeria is old enough to have identify the root causes of the slow development of the country.
People are just exploiting the situation for their own selfish reason.

You haven't asked yourself why Nigeria is upset when it hears anything Biafra, have you? The so called Nigeria oil was signed away by Gowon just to win that war. So Nigeria owns no major oil deposit in that space. They only collect taxes from the owners. Dangote realised late that he has to buy crude oil in hard currency from the real owners. I shake my head when I hear some people who keep shouting our oil, oily.

You come from a state, a region that has never contributed great infrastructures to society in it's history but ur talk is about Lagos.

Lagos budget 2.3 trillion naira...which is about 1.4 bn us dollars.

New York, which is similar in populaiton size to Lagos has a budget that is over 70 times that.

And you expect Lagos to be pristine and nice on a tiny budget.

Nigerians don't know how poor they are, or why they have a bad economy. I could enlighten them, but they don't want to hear. cheesy

Bad leaders
End of story
Bad corrupt leaders
According to Chatham House, a total of $583bn has been stolen from Nigeria since independence.
That money will put Nigeria at number 4 on the list of countries with sovereign wealth fund if we had invested it rightly
Nigeria is a sorry case of what corruption can do to an otherwise prosperous society

The railway network in Lagos is among the best in Africa, Lagos has BRT, do you have?
U lots are only good at noise making, ur entire region should come up with one rail line first before talking about others.
The only thing ur region has is people's houses, no classic hospital, no classic school, no classic mall, no classic transport network, nothing nothing, just noise, noise and abundant noise.

OP have you heard of Venezuela?

They have the largest oil reserves in the world but are dirt poor.

They share three unique traits with Nigeria

1. Socialism : Venezualans want free stuff from their government and expect it so they keep having communists in power. Nigeria practices a form of socialism with the federal government expected to play the role of everybody papa.

2. A huge mass of very low iQ population that sees 1) above as their rights.

3. They all forgot about going about building their lives because of "we oyel".

Do you know that the US, Norway and Canada produce more oil than we do but you don't see Americans all lining up for their cut.
