I saw his Smart Tv advert here in the month of August this year(2024). I contacted him and we concluded on the price and the delivery process. Due to the nature of my work, I told him that I don't have time to be calling him to report issues that he should bring me a good TV. He gave me the assurance that he would give me a good product. He brought the TV as promised and I paid - 220,000. He set it up and left. A few hours after he left, the TV went off on its own. I thought maybe it is low current issue, so I switch it off completely and went out. At night, when my kids wanted to watch their cartoon, the same issue came up. I still didn't bother that much. I put back the old TV for them. I reached out to him about the issue and he asked me to get a power surge adaptor which I did, but the issue persisted. After some days of back and forth of trying to fix the issue with no solution, he sent his technician to come and pick it for a repair. The guy came and pick it. A day later, I called the technician to know what the issue is. He told me that the power board is bad and a replacement will be needed(it will cost 50,000) I reported same to drickstore. I told him that I will not pay for fixing it since I have not made use of the TV, he argued that I should be a part which I agreed to part with 20,000. A few days later, I called back and the technician told me that he has fixed it. I called drickstore to inform him and also told him that I will pay the technician the 20,000 that I agreed on the day of pick up. Surprisingly, from that day till this moment, it has been stories upon stories from both the technician and Drickstore. Recently, the technician told me the screen has broken. I only brought in the technician into this report for the purpose of making a complete report. I really dont have any dealing with the technician as I was not the one that invited him. Drickstore(Seun) be rest assured that you will be fished out as long as u are still here in this country. It may take time, but you see that 220,000. You will not go free with it. You will pay for it. 08185993014 drickstore number Thank you all. |

He scammed you. I'm sure he knew he sold you a bad tv. You shouldn't have paid any further money to fix it either. He should've paid the technician, as that was his responsibility as the seller, not yours. So now your money and tv are gone. At this point, OP, you should ask for your money back (the 220,000 you paid him +20,000 you paid the technician) back. Do you have receipts? Go to the Police if you must. I don't like scammers. Drickstore (https://www.nairaland.com/drickstore), why did you scam this man like this? Do the right thing and return his money. |

Sharpsharp00123:Don't talk like it. It's the evil nature of Nigerians that makes people like you abuse others for not going to the market. We're in the digital era. In civilized countries you can sit at the comfort of your home and order any product and you'll get delivered to your door step in perfect condition. I once read about a Nigerian guy in Huston Texas who paid for a used car in Frisco and it was driven down to Huston. He came and inspected it and it was in good shape. According to him, he's been driving it for over 3 months and it hasn't given him any issues. But if you do such in Nigeria you'll be called a fool why? Are you not bothered that in 2025 if you want to buy a car or electronics you'd have to go with someone who knows it so as not to get cheated? Doesn't it bother you? Are you not worried that the criminal mindset of the average Nigerian is preventing us from embracing the full advantages of e-commerce because of lack of trust. Do you think it's everyone that has strength to go to the market under the scorching sun to be dragging price with traders? Why do you think e-commerce websites like alibaba, Amazon, jumia and co exist? Stop thinking like a Nigerian. This mindset is very embarrassing. |

Nazgul:oga stop all d grammar when u are in Rome u behave like a Roman? U are comparing a country with database with a country with no database, y are u people like this? This is a very high sign of being unreasonable, before u take actions u have to check your environment. Nigeria that u even take yourself to go n buy phone n emeka will sell fufu for u, it doesn't make sense doing that in Nigeria, it's either I go to a certified dealer with reciept n warranty or I order on Jumia where there's return policy I hate police wahala n I avoid it with all my might cos police will never solve any problems but collect from both parties n tell u to settle yourself. So y do I need to put myself in that situation, now the op will spend over 240k in getting the guy n d worst that can happen is the guy admit an error n pays police n they agree to part payment over time Op has been claiming busy before but now he will b forced to forgo his busy schedule n find d guy or pay What he would have avoided jejely by entering the market or shopping on Jumia. Well probably the TV seems cheap In all these, wisdom is profitable to direct. Don't b penny wise n pounds foolish |

Nazgul:Even if you meet the Nigerian in person you still don't know for sure that you are not being cheated. Business with Nigerians requires that you are a subject matter expert. Someone will tell you he is selling you a new hard drive. Plug it into machine and the drive is 10 years old, has bad sectors and is about to fail. That attitude is the attitude of the typical dishonest Nigerian who sees that as doing business |

amtheone:Sorry for the inconvenience and double embarrassment he caused for you, start by picking up the technician and use him to pick that idiot with silly name Deal with him with any means you want so far you will recover your money and he will spend more to set himself free |
