What happened to souls before the Greeks /Romans came up with the idea of Jesus?
Genesis chapter 3 says "From dust you were made, To dust you shall return. No hint about another judgement. God has already judged man with that statement.
There is no where else he said he will judge his spirit when they return to him. Those that even make any sense? Why would God judge his spirit?
The problem is that some people just like being deceived. They will always play the fool. They lack the capacity for independent thought...
The only time anything was mentioned again was in the prophesy of Samuel.
When he told Saul "when you fall asleep with your ancestors"...meaning death is sleep...no indication of judgement or man going to heaven...

Where did the Greek/Roman get the idea??

Whether before the fictitious Jesus was supposedly born or after...all human are made of God's breath(spirit) and dust of the earth. When God takes his spirit, the body experiences "death" and is buried for it to return to dust and becomes one with the earth while the spirit becomes one with God. It is pure and does not need to be saved from anything. Just like the preacher said in Ecclesiastics 12:7 and Psalm 104:29-31.
When the spirit enters the body(in the woman's womb) it becomes a soul....after 9 months it is expelled from the womb to begin its human experience. God sends his spirit. That's why the woman's womb is the most sacred place on earth and only those who worthy (husband) should be allowed in....
We are the spirit....not the body.
The spirit is contained within the man's sperm. That is why it is called living waters.

I can't find where Psalms 104:29-31 says that we humans are spirit being. Instead the verse says that we 'have' a spirit and that God created us with his spirit.

Below in the screenshot is Genesis 3:19 and Psalms 103:14. Do those two verses say that we are spirit or dust? Which one?

Humans are dust+God spirit..

This is the reason why I said God can't be a man because man is dust...

It is the spirit that gives the body life...

I don't know who was preached to and why....and I don't know the prison...you can provide answer to those questions according to the scriptures. If you don't provide the answer, it means your former sermon was not correct. You've also refused to answer if humans are spirits.

You said it's the spirit of dead people that are imprisoned according to Peter but the Bible teaches that nothing survives humans at death {Ecclesiastes 9:5-10} and it's the breath of life in all creatures that returns to God at death {Ecclesiastes 12:7} which means the breath of ants, cockroaches, mosquitoes and other animals is the same as that of humans! Ecclesiastes 3:19-20

So the SPIRITS in prison aren't dead people but some other creatures.

That's what you need to ask not quarrelling to cover up your ignorance that won't help you!

Jesus was DEAD for those three days so he can't say a word to anyone according to the scriptures {Ecclesiastes 9:10} that means the preaching wasn't done literally rather his death is like warning to those spirits!
