Firstly, the people that set up this thread, God bless and especially those who contribute regular, I dont want to be partial by calling names and leaving others out. But those that are of help, well done and God bless

When you're refused Visa and you post the refusal letter, people contribute to help you on the mistakes, and others that are yet to apply gets opportunity to read from previous errors and correct them, accordingly.

Note, no two cases are same, but there are similarities.

Here's my story.

As a family, we always travelled together and our travel period has always been consistent in December, cos of my wife's birthday.

From 2015 to 2022, I've done 9 countries Japan, South Africa, Australia, UAE, New Zealand, UAE again, Turkey, France, Saudi Arabia and Italy. My family did half of these trips with me, while I did solo on the others.
2024, we opt for UK.

TIME LINE
Submitted application to UKVI online around 31st October
Biometrics done 8th November, 2024
SENT to UKVI same 8th November, 2024
UKVI sent receipt mail on 12th November, 2024
TLS sent collection mail on 27th November, 2024

Documents
Myself,
1. 3 years tax clearance
2. VAT Registration of my company
3. List of Clients my company works for as consultant, that include one very popular and rich Oil and Gas company headquartered in London.
4. Company registration details with active Status on CAC, along with my professional qualifications
5. Self introduction letter
6. Letter of sponsorship by my company. Yes, it's a leisure travel, but my Manager wrote a letter that my own company is sponsoring the trip
7. Submitted 3 company bank statements, one of which is a Dollar account.
8. Company fixed deposit of the total travel fund. In July, we deposited the total travel cost in a fixed deposit account designated travel funds.
9. Personal bank statement for only 3 months, but I carefully pay myself salaries, spending only half of the salary monthly.
10. Letter of invitation from my elder brother, British Citizen.
11. Letter from Uncle (mums younger brother) British Citizen
12. Letters from mum to state my uncle is her younger brother, and that she's the mother of myself and brother, she was in UK in March and attached her entry stamp to UK and exists stamp.
13. Properties title document and a valuation report showing the values of the properties
14. Marriage certificate, all previous visas and all images taken in the 11 countries I've visited, birth certificate

Spouse
1. Letter of employment, promotion letter etc
2. Letter from employer confirming approval to travel
3. Her bank statement was not attached cos the account is not tidy at all, but we submitted statements of savings account from a cooperative society, that shows she saves a certain amount from her salary every month.
4. 6 months payslip, showing tax and other deductions
5. Statement from her PFA, Stanbic
6. Marriage certificate, all previous visas and all images taken in the countries visited, birth certificate of son
7. Self introduction letter
8. Letter from UK sponsors, Nigerians sponsor, bank statements etc

My son
1. Letter of Introduction from School
2. Receipts showing School fees payments
3. Birth certificate to confirm parents details
4. all previous visas and all images taken in the countries visited.
5. Letter from UK sponsors, Nigerians sponsor, bank statements etc

All the documents I submitted in my own application, I uploaded for my spouse and son as well. Reason is that, they sometimes may not give family application to same case officer. They may spread, hence I linked all three together and uploaded the same documents for all applicants. But fortunately for us, I presume it was handled by same case officer as email came in together, same time and hour

As regards how much you're willing to spend personally

Myself, I put ₦300k (saying company will sponsor all other cost)

Spouse, I put £5, saying husband's company will sponsor other cost

Son, I put ₦1 saying father will sponsor other cost

How much is your sponsor paying

Myself, I put the amount
My spouse, I put the same amount
Son, I put the same amount

Then added an addendum that the above sum provided by the sponsor is to be jointly spent by all applicants.

Our travel is for leisure, but I still used Company as sponsor, because we have a policy that allows founder to enjoy vacation. If Donald Trump is going on holiday as President of USA, it is state funds that would be used. As Tinubu is buying jet and travelling everywhere, it's on account of Nigeria. So a founder of a company can choose to use company funds for leisure

As regards employment, I chose self employed as the founder of a company, then showed tax clearance etc

It would be written in that last part that says do you have additional information to this application? That part before you click submit.

How many of you are going and who's sponsoring?

2. Please can we use 3 months bank statement for our application.
Just incase this information will be important, I have been to the uk multiple times and even did my masters over there but the last time I went to the uk was in 2014, over 10 years, been to usa, but my last time was in 2018 and Holland that was also a long time ago, my husband has only been to Dubai,

Judging by your travel history and provided you did not overstay, you stand more chance than your husband

1. Does he pay taxes? If he doesn't, let him meet any tax consultant so they can get him last 3 years tax clearance

2. You want do you do presently?

3. Your husband can use both his corporate and personal accounts. He must run it clean and make sure only salary from corporate account enters personal account.

4. If he claims to earn xyz, that xyz must tally with what enter the account and whatever he says is the monthly expenses, they must reflect in that account

5. You both would write letters explaining your personal circumstances in Nigeria, what you do, how you make money and how you have been to the UK previously, without violation, they should be assured you'll not do that this time

5. The same account tally must also be done by you

6 Origin of all funds in your account must be stated

7. If you say you earn ABC, that ABC must enter your account every month. Do not let EGG enter that same account without explaining

@cashmadam and other gurus in the house here is my son's refusal letter....can he reapply... how can this be cleaned up.
The confusing part of the application was that finance part for children who are in university and are not earning money please help me throw light on how to fill that part
Your responses will be well appreciated.

Sorry about the refusal.

The scrutiny of your son's application will be a bit strict because he is an adult (19 years). He should have some sort of savings if he gets money from you and or his Dad as allowance.

Also, you need to include evidence of the school fees paid, accomdation paid and all his school results up to date. If possible, get a letter from his University to confirm he is an enrolled student and confirm when he is scheduled to graduate and his GPA.

I put in that I have other savings and investments eg. Pension, money from family...because I ran 18m over six months in my account though most came from money sent into my account by my husband to pay school fees for the children. I am a government worker so salary for now is quite poor.. I saw this thread after we had been denied
I put in that I spend 100k monthly
Put in 1500 pounds as total cost of the trip which my husband said I should write.

Sorry about the refusal.

Your account statement was all over the place. Please clean it up.

With 2 refusals beack to back, your third application must be air tight. Take your time. You don't need a third refusal.

Your husband saying he will travel with you when you said he won't also added to the issues.

Next time, ensure the information you provide all tie together - no discrepancies. They are always looking for a reason to deny applicants. Don't give them a reason.

You need to speak about the about the application, try to convince them that you have funds, tell them you'll not run way, that this and that, then end it with financial analysis that you already provided.

You have a genuine reason that your husband is sponsoring because of the new born

These documents are less than 2Mb..I tried reducing the size of the documents but still not successful.

I'm assuming this is a dependent work or student visa ..
Proving sole responsible means u must produce "organic" documentation to show uve been the one caring for ur child alone since custody was awarded to you or even prior to that time... Example include

....school fees receipt u paid showing your name ..not just one receipt....i mean many terms .....if ur name is not on it ..its useless..
...scholarship letter....
...double promotion letter...
...request letter from school asking you to consent your child to be part of competitions, or any extra events ...etc..
...PTA request letter addresses to you alone..
...Excursion request letter addressed to you to give consent ..
... hospital records like genotype or blood group test, malaria test, typhoid test report ..that shows ur name as only parent

Don't add consent letter from the other parent..other wise.. u are inviting refusal....

...I hope ur sole custody letter is not recent.. ECO will just refuse the application on grounds that it was done for the travel purpose and hence not in the best interest on the child...

@zeezeepearl… all of the above would help your case with the single most outstanding document which is a SOLE CUSTODY ORDER awarded by the courts not affidavit OR death certificate of the child’s father.
Also add documentation from the child’s school and child’s Doctor saying you are the only parent child has ever presented to school or hospital with.
Also pls do not bring a falsified or a new birth certificate, everything goes left from there.

As long as the documents are uploaded online you do not carry them again to the VFS appointment. Bank statement from ur app can be uploaded as a a pdf file as well… no need to print.

we registered to a family hospital, the kids attend same school,and are known to beour children,we lived together and care for them. Most people address i and my spouse as the parent to all ..how do i prove otherwise,most school and hospital notices are addressed to us as mr and mrs..

But you mentioned you had the child from before, so mr and mrs etc does not relate to her and does not automatically confer parenthood if she was not formally adopted by your current spouse…. I advise you approach the courts and get sole custody order if/since your child’s other biological parent is no where to be found.

The problem is.. those Entry clearance officers are always on beast mode when it comes it minor's application especially from u countries they have reservations about the integrity of data & document ...so they naturally look for more reasons to refuse so they can easily hide under one small technical variable in ur document....

I've seen many minor applications denied just because the the other parent wrote a consent letter in a sole custody scenario....the ECO claimed that if the other parent is still giving consent to the other parent that has sole custody, it means there's a joint custody arrangement somewhere that has been exposed, so the custody letter was rendered null or technically falsified

So, these documents u want to submit are meant to explain on ur behalf ur proof of sole care for a significant period for them to allow ur kid travel with you.......becos the truth is u wont be there to explain.....so once both your names are in the documents as Mr & Mrs or receipts doesnt show your name at all....then the proof will start to become insufficient ...
.u said u want air tight....I gave u air tight to the best of my knowledge and how these ECOs view Nigerian applications..( they dont have any love or trust for us)... Dnt give any ECO one small room to nail you..

I used Naira in our case.

Ticket for 3 people, I stated ₦6m
I stated ₦2.3miillon for entertainment etc
I'm not paying for accommodation, so I stared nothing.

But you have to put accomodation say £50 to £70 per night
Feeding for all of you at about £50 to £100 per night.

Your budget appears low

Contradictions in your statement.

Upload means you have sent already, why do you need to print again?
