Why is Opay deducting #50 from my account on transactions of #10,000 or more? I pay more than #2,000 as P.A.Y.E tax every month whereas I earn 70k as salary. VAT is still there on provisions and other stuffs. Is this not multiple taxation on a meagre income?

Tinubu should stop copying working countries when it comes to tax. Our incomes are not the same.

This evening, I transferred money from my First Bank account into my Opay account. #70 was debited from my first Bank account while #50 was debited from my Opay account consecutively. I lost #120 for moving my money from my account into another account of mine.

Who did we offend in Nigeria?

That is not what the levy orders, and I suggest you we fight them on this.

The Regulations provide for a singular and one-off levy of ₦50 on the recipient of any electronic receipts or transfers of ₦10,000 or above.

I wanted to use my bank's ussd they are telling me per session is 6.9k direct from cbn. Whether money go or not, e no concern them.

Actually, I just don't like being robbed. And while it might not concern them, it concerns me who works for my money.

I moved my account from First Bank years ago when they were charging me for alerts. It's little money, but it adds up in the end.

They have quietly started the cyber security levy through the back and everywhere is quiet.. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

What then is Stamp Duty?!

They have been informing customers since October. Any transaction of 10k and above would attract #50 levy on all fintech apps. Commercial banks have been doing it before now.

Since it get triggered to debit you when the amount is 10k naira and above, simply send below 10k and see how it goes.
