Does it matter who carry basket to collect offering in church, no be pastor pocket e dey go

We dont trust anything APC, nothing they say or do is for national interest there is alway selfish interior motive

they told us subsidy Removal will creat economic growth,

they told us floating the naira will stabilize and help naira rebound, things have only gone worst

Tinubu emphatically told Nigerians, e lo fi okan ba lè a maa gbe wa lè, only to come n increase every tariff he sees

That is not a Man Nigerians can give a 2nd chance or trust one more time... Tinubu tax reform is a trojan horse the true damage are well hidden, you cant tax the rich in real sense cos the rich always have a means to shift the total burden on the poor
You expect the economy to turn around in barely a year....we haven't even completed tinubu's first budget cycle and you are spewing thrash about how Nigeria should be Eldorado when in fact it had been going down the abyss for decades......I am not in anyway disappointed in you though,it's expected from your intellectually deficient kind.

It's interesting to see the back-and-forth between President Tinubu's camp and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso regarding the proposed tax reforms. Dada Olusegun's post highlighting that Kwankwaso had included similar reforms in his 2023 campaign manifesto makes an important point about the consistency of the idea. It raises questions about the political dynamics at play, especially when the same proposal is being opposed after being part of a previous agenda.

Kwankwaso’s request for Tinubu to reconsider his stance on the tax reforms because of the timing of the proposal is valid, given the current economic climate and the challenges Nigerians are facing. It’s understandable why some people might feel the reforms are not suitable at this moment, particularly when many are still grappling with the effects of subsidy removal and inflation.

However, it’s important to also consider the broader view that these reforms, if properly implemented, could have a long-term positive effect on the economy, including addressing the country’s revenue generation issues. Bayo Onanuga’s dismissal of the claims that the reforms are anti-North and favor only Lagos and Rivers points to the potential inclusivity of these reforms, despite the criticisms. It’s crucial to ensure that these policies are fair and beneficial across all regions, especially if they are to have the desired impact.

At the end of the day, the focus should be on creating reforms that uplift Nigerians, especially the disadvantaged, while also ensuring fairness and widespread benefits. It would be interesting to see how the National Assembly handles these bills and if any modifications will be made to accommodate the concerns being raised.

The difference is kwankwaso will use more than 80% of the tax for infrastructure and other benefits and probably steal the remaining to be honest but Tinubu and his cronies will steal 100 % of the tax generated and still create more hardship

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on social media, Dada Olusegun, has disclosed that the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwanwaso planned the same tax reform.

How about security reforms? Farmers are leaving their farms because of insecurity.
How about institutional reforms?
How about naira reforms?
How does he bring back the multinationals that left?
Who is he taxing? Indigenous companies? How many are they?
He couldn’t save the masses from the lashes of subsidy removal how will he save the masses when these few companies start placing the tolls on the masses by virtue of VATs on their products?
How about Educational reforms? Our curricular system is about 50 years behind most renowned universities today.
The funds gained from subsidy removal aren’t accounted for. Those funds are heading somewhere.
No accountability.

Question is Why must Tinubu always plug in pipes for syphoning , wherever money exchange hands?

A man who floated the naira without the competence to manage the boomerang from poor Fx policies,
took off fuel subsidies without effective provisions to cushion the severity and ensure gradual, sustainable development..,
That man doesn’t stand a chance with some dumb tax reforms that’s just a decoy for funds syphoning.
He’s running Nigeria on “owo mi da” principles. The so called IGR- centric style of governance.

Tax reforms isn’t what Nigeria need now. Not with Tinubu. He’s a thief. Only useful to his circle of thieves.
Useless to Nigeria as a whole.
Tax reform with Tinubu is rubbish.

Don't you know they must always hate anything associated with Tinubu whether positive or negative because of their failed presidential aspirations. I have never seen such a hostile and toxic behaviour before but they drink it like their lifes depend on it. In fact their greatest joy will be that Tinubu should be removed from govt, they don't mind a northerner taking over.

Cliché!! What metamorphosis are you expecting, that petrol should go back to 250 naira or dollar back to 750 naira.....that to me is rather too pedestrian a logic.

Nigeria had made no real progress since the oil boom of the 70s....it's been a downward slide into economic doldrums.....look how many years but many who were crying for the days of Abacha or yar adua to come back didn't feel this retrogression and didn't care in so far they could get subsidised fuel in their cars, cheap dollars to go import anything and everything and even send their gfs abroad for shopping but now the hooves have come off the horse and the economy can't go on any more ....do you think it would just take mere wishful thinking to correct the rot and decline of several decades in less than 24 months......how more illogical can one be.

Their are currently 2 refineries up in same period this man has come in, terrorism and insecurity is being tackled head on with visible results, the foreign reserve is growing to over 40b USD since pre GEJ,oil production is shoring up and much needed investments in that sector are coming in.....we could go on and on but the fact people deliberately would rather be blind to the positives and stick to the negatives just because this man disgraced their preferred candidate is what beats me hollow at every turn.....how preposterous.

Was that not what Tinubu promised, when fuel was at 197 Tinubu said a maa gbe wa lè ... why should Nigerians be grateful for #750 per litre.

Maybe Nigeria did not make progress since oil boom But so also Nigeria have never recorded the economic doldrums like Tinubu recorded within 1yrs, Tinubu inflation rate alone surpass yaradua and jonathan tenure combine.

Subsidy is not bad or wrong, even in climes unemployment rate is single digit, govt still subsidy .. As a Nigeria from time of birth to time of death the probability you will benefit one thing from Naija govt is 10% ... govt is not all about take take from the people that what makes Tinubu despicable he never thinks of giving back ... is sees governance like a heist operation

Two refineries up, why not substantiate that with what as changed, is it supply ?? lower price ?? or as importation stopped .. what as changed bro ?? thats how to make a point
Insecurity is tackle on yet, farmers cant still go back to farm, who is fooling who

Virtually all you listed are mere outcomes without significance, changes talkless of impact.
Revenue as increased, Gdp as increase blah blah ... yet we cant afford to finance anything without running to take loan, infact with the rate Tinubu is going he will collect more loan than obj, yaradua and Gej combined

Everything this useless government claims as an achievement literally has no impact in reality .. pregnancy doesnt show until 5 + but there are build up that gives it out

How will the bill enhance the quality of life? Will it reduce hyperinflation?
Going by the facts given, it will drastically reduce hyperinflation. This is a reasonable question Nigerians should be asking this time. I asked this same Question from a professor of economics a few days ago, and he gave me an answer in the affirmative.

I don't see how it will I'm sorry.. Hyperinflation will only reduce when the main causes are addressed. The dollar rate and fuel cost then productivity of the economy and last but not least anticorruption and accountability bill for government leaders than will enable life imprisonment for looters.

It's either you are very limited in your knowledge of how an economy runs or you deliberately just want to be downright mischievous,I suspect the former.

For Pete's sake, those refineries coming on stream alone is very pivotal to our economic recovery,it makes no sense for anybody to go import petrol anymore and we have started saving hitherto scarce Forex that would have gone into importation of this....tinubu made that happen..... inflation is high because of the devaluation of the naira which is normal in such circumstances,it's then apt for the economy to shore up productivity so as to march the value of the currency....that's basic economics that even a basic school kid knows.

You are only trying to be funny by denying the obvious effort against terrorism and banditry in the north, boko haram, iswap, bandits in not too distant past ran rampage over the north and always in the news daily but that has been drastically reduced.

Economics is beyond having rice and beans to eat though that's all that matters to the layman but the foundations to make lasting progress as in the case of Nigeria had been greatly damaged and we are only trying to now make those reforms to rejig it.....Nigeria's problems is structural and not who is president.

On borrowing, there is no way you can run this economy without borrowing, you are servicing previous debts that needs to be paid back which is eating over 60% of your revenue and you still have your re current and capital components in your budget to finance, there is absolutely no way you won't have to borrow......I used to reason same way you are right now when I was a lot younger and had limited exposure but I now know how much of a mess Nigeria is in and we have no choice but to dig out way out of it and there are no easy fixes.

It's trite to recall that even GEJ and madam Iweala were screaming over the roof tops that Nigeria at the time couldn't continue the way we were going without tanking out the economy but they weren't bold enough to make those reforms tinubu's doing now, they rather sacrifice expediency for politics

lolzz !! what happened to me is Nigeria and i have come to understand with the deceptive leaders at the elms of affair all academic and economic knowledge is meaningless

i remember how some of us were defending Buhari importation ban to boost local production .. 8yrs after its all full regret and nothing

So many fvcking times govt hike fuel price and tell competition will reduce price .. just that it never happen
Imagine all the advantage economic accrued to local production, now we have refineries and Nigerians can't even tell which is worst

Some of us are not so naive with economic reforms, we have examples and we see how it is done, a true reform begins with the leaders, these things a practical and feedbacks now, what will work sign must dey
why anyone will expect a different result clearly when govt runs the same operandi makes absolute no sense

Tinubu said Nigerians were living fake life we are broke, but the foolish man bought private jet, a yacht and see the entourage
he took to france, but subsidy on 1 litre of fuel for Nigerians is fake life.
