I find the tradition of throwing money at the bride and groom a bit tacky. Why can't people give their gifts privately, leaving the dance floor for what it's meant for dancing. We glorify money to an extreme extent that even those who are struggling financially feel that no wedding is complete without this arbitrary practice. 3 Likes |

The lavish spending. I can understand if you're spending lavishly on a ten, twenty, thirty years anniversary. A time frame where couples have proven the worth of their commitment and overcame challenges. The entire thing I have never really attended any ceremony all my life, either to mourn or to rejoice. Convocation and POP inclusive, so I really wouldnt wanna attend my own wedding either I fit hire person to stand-in for me but I'm not sure that would be allowed 1 Like |

For me it has to be the part where there'll be about 20 elderly married women advising the bride on how to be a good wife... Most of the things they say just don't make sense. You'll hear them telling the bride that even if she's unemployed and her husband who's working doesn't provide her with money for foodstuffs, she should go and borrow some money to come and cook food for her husband...🤦🤦🤦... That's nonsensical. One elderly lady also told me on my wedding day that I must never ask for my husband's whereabouts, I smiled and agreed with her, only if she knew that I already had GPS on my husband...  ... But he's well aware of it and he doesn't mind and he also has one on me... We only make use of them when necessary. |
