A son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Bello has spoken out about rumors that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided his home in Kaduna.

Bello refuted the accusations in a statement issued on Wednesday, calling them “false” and a deliberate effort to divert attention from his public work.

According to the rumors, which have been making the rounds on social media, the EFCC found N700 billion in cash, N1 trillion in drugs, and $800 million in Bello’s Kaduna home. But according to Bello, the accusations are an insult to the values of justice and equity in addition to being slanderous.

Additionally, Bello used the occasion to refute rumors that he doesn’t own a property in Kaduna, stating that his family’s residence is in fact in Unguwar Sarki. Bello promised his constituents in his message that he would keep providing the people of Kaduna North with high-quality, candid, and honest representation.

“My constituents that I represent are aware of what would occur if I were endowed with such figures,” he stated.

“I promise those who are funding these naive attacks that we will keep helping the people and enjoying how it irritates them; adding high-quality, candid, and honest representation is here to stay in Kaduna North.”
