Kog45:Now compare that to the multitude of fans who defended him against those so called criticisms. That's my point. There will always be exceptions but what matters is the majority. Majority always carries the vote. Osimhen is the Super Eagles' favourite child for a reason. |

COOL10:Go to super eagles social spaces and see how people hate Osimhen Some people even still carry that finidi matter for head till today |

COOL10:I'm not getting your point on criticism...are you saying a must to criticize a player even if he is performing cuz Osimhen has not had any woeful performance in eagles that would warrant heavy criticisms |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by COOL10(m): 12:10pm On Dec 05, 2024 |
Samueltemi337:I'm talking about on-the-field performances and not off-the-field. That Finidi issue is an off-the-field occurrence. Besides I don't think anyone who criticises Osimhen based on the Finidi issue hates him. They just feel he could have handled that situation better, and they're right. People need to understand the difference between criticisms and hatred. Has Osimhen ever had to lock his comments section because of constant death threats from Nigerian fans? Has Osimhen ever had to lock his comments section because of constant death threats to his family members? These are things that Ighalo, Iwobi and Maduka all faced. Osimhen never chop criticism oh, trust me. He's a learner in that area 😄 |

Kog45:We should criticize him when there's nothing to criticize |

COOL10:Like Kog45 said What has Osimhen done that warrant criticism? |

Samueltemi337:Osimhen goofed on Finidi matter and anyone supporting him on that is not helping him. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by COOL10(m): 12:27pm On Dec 05, 2024 |
Kog45:My point is simple. When a player underperforms, despite your love for that player, be mature enough to put your sentiments aside and criticize that player for performing poorly. The thing is that, as Nigerians, we don't like telling ourselves the truth. Osimhen had a terrible AFCON outing. An African Player of the Year scoring just one goal in the entire tournament and missing the most chances (13) is a woeful performance. Most Nigerians will argue with you and tell you to forget about that because he knows how to mark and put pressure on defenders, forgetting that the number one goal of a striker is to put the ball in the back of the net. Osimhen didn't win the African Player of the Year award by putting pressure on defenders, he won it because of the goals he scored and trophy he won with Napoli. Imagine what would have happened if the likes of Lookman and Ekong didn't step up at the AFCON. We won't even have gotten out of the group stage. |

COOL10:bros na lie….dont use the word terrible for Osimhen when analyzing his afcon numbers… Nig 1- 1 EQG (osimhen scores) Nig 1-0 CIV (Ekong scored the penalty, osimhen was fouled on an almost 1 on 1 situation vs CIV keeper) Nig 1- 0 GNB(Simon wing cross out, osimhen was right closely behind the defender that scored the own goal) Nig 2-0 Cam(Lookman 2goals..osimhen wrestling down a defender to give an on running free lookman for the opening goal) Nig 1-0 Ang (scored a sweet header against angola, but canceled) NiG 1-1 SA (Ekong scored, osimhen won us a penalty facing the goalkeeper after been brought down in the 18yard box, scored another beautiful goal that was disallowed due to alhassan fouling SA player before the goal) It was only in the final and maybe against GNB that osimhen did not make an assist or score a goal. Dont tag his afcon numbers as terrible…i no gree..na big lie. Look for another match to tag osimhen as terrible not afcon where he contributed 90% to our second place finish |

Kog45:Here are the minutes played of the players I mentioned: Awoniyi: 426 minutes Saqiq: 309 minutes Onuachu: 797 minutes Boniface: 591 minutes Dessers: 322 minutes You can see that even by minutes played, Cyriel Dessers has a better goal scoring record in the Super Eagles than those particular players. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by minfelix(m): 12:55pm On Dec 05, 2024 |
COOL10:-imagine what would have happened if Osimhen had not wrestled that defender to set up lookman free goal. -Imagine what would have happened if osimhen had not been brought down in second match vs CIV…ekong for see penalty score? -Imagine what would have happen if Osimhen had not given Ekong another penalty chance against SA, shey him for see goal score?. Osimhen did not score goals at the afcon but he was not terrible |

minfelix:Guy, why do you like disgracing yourself like this? How many times are you going to prove that you lack the capacity to engage in logical conversations? You're always too eager to argue, so much that you don't even realise when you are proving my point. The two statements you quoted me with proved the exact points I made to Kog45, but you're just too emotional and illogical to see them. You're supporting me without even knowing that you're supporting me ![]() Everytime you go dey jump on my mentions uninvited; so desperate for my attention and validation. 🤣 Guy shift abeg, I don't have your time today. This is my first and last reply to you on this topic. Find someone else to argue with. |

I've barely even said much about Osimhen yet about three people have already come out to defend him, yet they claim that Osimhen has a lot of critics. ![]() I know more defenders will come. . They keep proving my points every single time. I'm loving it ![]() |

COOL10:if i have not started my disagreement with you on a terrible insulting level, then you should not have insulted me… but since you have done that, i can kindly say you are a very STUPID man fellow. once again your useless illogical analysis is whack if you think osimhen was terrible at the afcon….u dont have sense at all to have used the term terrible…Osimhen was not clinical in front of goal, but he was 90% very instrumental to our afcon near success. wetin your useless attention wan give me…anyone that says or analyzes any thing that i feel i dont agree with here on nairaland, i will quote the person and disagree….who the F are you that i should not quote what you have said….abeg shift enter bush ewu…be you anybody, if i see an analysis i dont agree with i will humbly object…who u be that i should be looking for your attention…iwu ewu! if you reply me again, then you be mumu… nairaland is a place of agreement and disagreement, and ofcos the point you raised is a controversial one…saying osimhen was terrible at the Afcon must surely raise one or two eyebrow, given the work input osimhen put in at the afcon…..oga i no f**king send you oo…i will quote you or anyone that drops any analysis that seems controversial……carry your f**king attention enter sambisa forest…ode! |

Kog45:bros name the player, and tell us the tournament the player played in…and also tell us where we got to at that tournament…..so far so good the strike force(point men) we took to afcon 2021 was a whack one… Awoniyi 1goal no impact(we jah for round 16) Sadiq 1goal no impact(we jah for round 16) if osimhen had ended afcon 2023 that way na me go personally drag am for here that he was terrible……oga as a striker you should be hugely/actively/passively responsible for our success in a tournament. Osimhen was 90% responsible for our Afcon second place finish…his only major undoing was that he didn’t directly score goals…. tell us which SE striker that put in same number/statistics/workrate Osimhen gave at the last afcon that we blamed hugely |

DeloitteNG:Na you dey compare the two of them, not me. I never compared them because I know that Osimhen is clearly ahead of him in the pecking order. Don't try to deviate from the topic of discourse. Kog45 was the one who mentioned that Osimhen receives lots of criticisms from Nigerian fans. I disagreed and gave my reasons. The question is, do you agree or not? You're free to also give your reasons. |
