Taking nothing from Lookman who is well deserving of the APOTY but let us be 100% honest abeg with the Afcon tales.

Without Osimhen as the Focal point and arrowhead of our team, Nigeria's attack would have been toothless with our ultra defensive approach. Osimhen's battering ram, pressing 9, well rounded striker performance was the shoulder Lookman stood upon to shine at the Afcon.

No other number 9 could do what Osimhen did at the Afcon in that defensive setup AND IN A LONE STRIKER ROLE. NONE!!! From Awo to Boniface to Moffi to Sadiq... NONE! Nada! It is the deep realisation of this that makes you appreciate Osimhen even more.

When I’m discussing my players, I’m usually devoid of emotions and speak fact. But, when people speak facts it might sound like hate. Usually, I praise players when they perform and constructively criticize when they fail to perform. Now, list how many big games that osimhen has scored against for Nigeria? I.e Traditional African powerhouse. Also, list all the small teams that he has scored against in African football. Let’s not disrespect one another just provide documented facts and I will apologize if I’m wrong. Note, I didn’t say that, he isn’t a good player just counter my statements with facts

I disagree. For people to watch 2024 ANC and say that starboy was a better player than Lookman at the same tournament signifies that, there are other agendas and favorites on these platform that cannot be hidden. The same people disregarded CAF that included Lookman at their CAF XI. Some of them might be upset that, the bobo is extremely professional and doesn’t engage with clowns

this is just exactly what you want to achieve here…just to shade osimhen…e sure me say Lookman is not your fave player, you just want to use the fact that he is doing well to talk osimhen down…oga osimhen has been firing on all cylinder and representing our national colors since 2015(current record holder for most goals in u-17)…if you are a die hard Nigerian super eagles fan then osimhen should have a soft spot in your heart…you dont need all this lookman praises to tear osimhen down….both of them are extremely good players….you should be glad NFF got it right by birthing and discovering a highly world class player in osimhen…stop all this childish talk down

Iwobi has been doing well on the right wing this season but I'll always prefer him as an Attacking Midfielder. When you play Iwobi around the " D Area" of an opponent's box, you're going to get the best out of him. That arc around the box is his most dangerous zone, in my opinion.

Story for the gods. Osimehn is a hardworking player for Nigeria but at the last ANC, he worked hard and created chances but his conversion rate and chances missed was atrocious and it cannot be negated. His ANC performance contributed to bigger clubs being skeptical on paying that release clause. Although, his still an extremely useful player and our best striker but that ANC performance was average

It is not the first time that a tournament XI doesn't reflect the actual outlook of things at a tournament. Just like how Pitroipa was crowned MVP of Afcon 2013 when we all know it was Mikel.

It was not a criticism of CAF awards. You are forcing it.

One can be okay with a CAF XI and also have another opinion about who was the nation's best or most influential player at a tournament. Both truths can stand.
