Relax a bit.What we should try to do is establish the truth first, what if Dele Farotimi is right?
We all know how rotten the entire system is.
Afterall Dele has been arrested will eventually have his day in court to prove his claims even though it's still a corrupt system.
If true then people like afe babalola should be stoned to death,unfortunately we are not in medieval times anymore.

With all his experience, education and exposure I am so shocked that Chief Babalola could be so clueless on how to handle such a sensitive case.
This case is another fresh evidence to the world on how the elites in Nigeria have corrupted the Security Agencies and the judiciary to oppress people.
Because it has been clearly defined that Dele's offense was a bailable one.

You are struggling to make sense. Dele made allegations that are damaging to Afe Babalola. Those allegations could be true of false. Now Afe Babalola instead of going to court, decided to use the instrument of the state to hunt Dele. That is the problem and what is drawing sympathy to Dele.

If we are in Afe Babalola’s shoes, and someone wrote terrible things to destroy our hard earned reputation, and have the effrontery to publish them in a book that would be read by children that are not yet born, am not sure we would take it likely. I don’t know Afe Babalola and I don’t know Dele Farotimi. I just took my time to digest the information objectively and dispassionately. I will advise us to do the same

Since he arrested the guy,he should go and arrest the books too.The problem we have is the set of people that enjoyed Nigeria at its prime,they got things easy and cheap and they are greedy and selfish.Imagine fraud cases of billions not to talk of the one we don't know, someone was accused of stealing 89billion! [b]Afe Babalola has the right to react the way he did. Dele threw a TERRIBLE jab by publishing damning allegations against the man without first substantiating them as fact. Like I said earlier to someone, all of us feel terrible about a lot of our bigwigs, and am sure a lot of us talk about their perceived corruption among ourselves, in our homes, at newspaper joints, at beer parlour e.t.c. Of course, none of us have facts about all these things apart from hearsays. Now, imagine us now writing a book on these people and saying all the atrocities we think they have committed based on our own perception. Publishing it in a book means they are FACTS. Books will be read by children yet unborn.

It is natural for Afe Babalola to feel badly maligned. He is a man that has put in over 60 years into his practice. Law students that would be born in 100 years from now will read DELE's book and form an opinion. Dele started the rascality by first publishing the allegations in a BOOK, knowing fully well it won't be retrievable. He went for the man with FULL force.

But, if he is not able to substantiate his claim, even if he is jailed, it won't still do much to redeem Afe Babalola's image as thousands of people globally have bought the book. A lot of them won't even get to hear about the judgment. It is so easy to immortalize falsehood.

All of us have personal reservations about a lot of our public leaders. But to publish such in a book is taking it to a whole new level. It becomes irredeemable. If it was published as an online article on some blogs, he can be made to remove the link from the web. But in a book that has been sold globally, it is irretrievable. It means Afe Babalola might have his reputation permanently damaged before some people, no matter how the tide of justice flows in this case.

Like I said again, if we are in Afe Babalola's shoes, we would be pained. He is inhuman Afterall.
We shouldn't allow people to hide under activism to damage people's reputation irretrievably without concrete facts, other than hearsays.

It's not really about about the accusations made, it's about the way Dele was arrested and taken to Ekiti like Speed Darlington was arrested amd taken to Abuja.

Everybody is shocked that Afe behaved like a local champion by arresting a lawyer and carting him off to jail.

The legal process is to invite the accused and if he refuses to come, only then you arrest him.

No summons, just a Gestapo style operation is wrong.

This was what illiterate Buhari did to Judges back then and everyone rose up against it.
