Dollar will rise.
Yes, it is trend in December, too many $ inflows hence it’s a classic demand and supply at play. Hold on to your $ until mid to late January

Those fees are charged whether it's primary or secondary market. You may not have noticed or it wasn't communicated to you.
Good afternoon. About those fees, I got this from my enquiry with Stanbic.

Please is this 7.5% charged on my investment or the interest?

Its neither on the investment nor the interest.

VAT is on commission, custody and transaction fees.

Commission is 0.125% of the investment, custody 0.1% and transaction fee is N100.

7.5% the total of the above is your VAT.

I have about 15m I made from savings and my business. Should I start build a residential house for myself and family or invest it in TBills yearly and use my interest for rent and other basic expenses. Pls I need suggestions. (PS: I have got a land for the building already)

Dicey situation...

15m isn't enough for a good residential house, I will advice you invest the money in Tbills and continue to generate more money from that your business till you are financially capable and stable to start building your taste abode.

I thought about that but I calculated the yield and the 3x is more than the 1 time 360 days yield
😂😂 it doesn't work that way, you really think people doing 1 year straight are not wise 😂😂😂

Put the money in Tbills.
Use the annual interest from Tbills to pay your rent and start the building of the residential house till you finish it.
Keep doing your business and continue to grow the capital you put in Tbills annually.

Considering the current inflation rate, I strongly advise allocating ₦5 million towards your building project and prioritizing careful planning to maximize the budget. Depending on the location, an alternative option could be purchasing another plot of land.

To maintain liquidity, ensure that ₦10 million is set aside as an easily accessible reserve. Consider investing this amount in low-risk instruments such as Treasury Bills, shares, or commercial papers. This will allow you to quickly access funds if needed for unexpected expenses or business opportunities.

Avoid tying up all your capital in a single building project, as unforeseen circumstances like job loss or business demands may require immediate access to funds.

It seems sometimes the the rate is higher in secondary market.

I got 19% for 65 days in secondary market, 17.8% in primary market for 91 days in first bank.

Hello Gurus,

Pls assist to confirm the rates:

For Sec TB > Commission Fee ? ; Custody Fee ? ; Transaction fee ?
For Pri TB > Commission Fee ? ; Custody Fee ?; Transaction fee ?

Does the fees above apply to both of the Pri & Sec TBs?

Which other fees are deducted apart from the 10% WHT on interest ?

Hello.
For secondary market. The principal has been deducted. But I haven't got the interest. I thought its immediately and also is it possible for the bid to fail even after when the principal has been deducted. Please I need clarification on this. Thank you
