Ok, but what if there are additional allowances received in particular months, which aren't reflected on pay slips, but are shown in a 'total salary' breakdown from HR and reflected in salary account statements? Can one just attach the salary breakdown sent from HR via email (proving additional allowances received), in addition to the regular pay slips and salary account statements?

Cashmadam:
Income - Expenses

Figures on your payslips and bank statements will be used

The HR/Office can provide clarification through the introduction letter, as it is part of their responsibilities to ensure everything is clear and to avoid any doubts.

Thanks. The only issue is that there's an approved template used for the introduction letter, which doesn't state renumeration, so it probably makes sense to supplement this introduction letter with email receipts from HR showing my salary breakdown. I can ensure these email receipts are stamped by HR for authenticity purposes. What do you think?

Go ahead. It’s a no brainer.

Good afternoon, all. Please find below a list of my supporting documentation, which will be submitted with my cover letter and online application next month for a one-week trip to London to see my girlfriend:

 Travel Documents: My passport biodata page and copies of previous United Kingdom study visas issued.
 Financial Evidence: Stamped salary breakdown (showing prior and current total renumeration), email receipts confirming salary increments, pay slips from employer (for the most recent three-month period), Naira salary account statements (for the most recent three-month period), and United States Dollar (USD) savings account statements (for the most recent three-month period).
 Accommodation and Travel Details: A detailed travel itinerary & budget breakdown, invitation letter from my host and her supporting documentation (passport biodata page and recent utility bill).
 Employment Details and Economic Ties: A letter of introduction from my employer, an employment confirmation letter and a signed leave approval letter from my supervisor, which all prove my economic ties.
 Evidence of Family Ties to Nigeria: My birth certificate and a signed letter from my father, proving family ties and responsibilities (since I don't own property yet).
 Additional Information: A copy of my host's Nigerian visa sticker proving that she has visited me in Nigeria and photos, proving our relationship.

Kindly share your thoughts and advise if I'm omitting anything. Thank you.

Good day,

I intend to travel to the UK in April 2025 with my wife for just 2weeks and return back ( Genuine )
We both are working, i receive 350k while my wife is 450k

We both just have a virgin passport.

We have inlaws in UK who just finished thier masters and currently working there. Can they send us invitation to visit?

If not what and what do we need to process our visa cos we are novice in this UK applications.

Thanks

Congratulations! How long are you visiting and what amount did you put on the application as your total budget (including flights and accommodation)? Would you also mind sharing a range for your disposable income? I believe this will help guide prospective applicants. Thanks.

What I know is: UKVI requires Financial evidences for 6months for Standard Visitor Visa, 3months is the Schengen requirements, this is what I know, I may be wrong thou!

If you check their website, you'll realize there's actually no explicit requirement mandating the submission of bank statements for the last 6 months and I've heard about cases where some applicants have been granted visas even after showing account statements for the most recent three-month period, so I think it really just depends on the strength of one's entire application. However, bank statements MUST cover at least a 3-month period.
I have also heard that applicants with a proven travel history to countries or regions with strict visa requirements, such as the US, Canada, the UK, and the Schengen Area are likely to be granted more leniency.

Website just stated evidence of finance, without specifying number of months. You're right with Schengen that's very specific.

I think the 6 months is a rule of 👍

I used 3 months for my visitors Visa last year and was granted and I know couple of other people who used the same thing.

Cheers

I mean if 6 months was a strict requirement for account statements, they would've clearly stated this on their website, so this implies there's no hard and fast rule about submitting bank statements for the past 6 months as long as the bank statements cover at least a three-month period and applicants could have valid reasons for only submitting bank statements for the most recent three-month period like I do, e.g. a recent salary increase, reflecting current income and spending patterns, or inflated expenses due to emergencies for instance, etc.

Thanks for this. Prior to your application, did you have a travel history to the UK or any similar country with stringent visa requirements?

No travel history, it was a virgin passport but the purpose of the visit was for an exam. So, I backed up with lots of documents.

Yes. Also, explain the additional income in the last section - where you have a blank page for additional information

There is no rule for 6 months statement. However, over time, it became a norm that many people adopted.

I have seen people apply with 2, 3 months. It depends on your personal and financial cirumstances and what the visa officer is looking for...
