Yemi still de.

It is both. There is a participation mentality rather than competition mentality in our clubs. That mentality trickles down to their hiring process. Zero ambition colors their preparations and their staffing.

One looks at the backroom staffs of the clubs and it's not hard to see why there's no expectation of good things.

The talk long and I don tire to talk am.
our record in CAF club competitions is shockingly bad, from the top of my head I think Sunshine stars making champions league semi should be the last time we had any meaningful impact

If they wanted to be rated, they have to leave that kebab league. Super eagles require certain standards
But Nwabali did not leave the South African league to be rated.

The midfield is where we have abit of trouble now why not we call him up to see if he can add something and if not we continue our search rather than waiting for him to move to a better league.

There was also Enyimba making the semis in CCC 2018. Best outcomes since then have been QFs but don't be deceived, that's merely the next stage after the groups.

When I look at Tanzania for example, you have outliers like Simba SC and Young Africans performing consistently on the continent. It removes any soft landing for our clubs, they are unambitious at best or clueless at worst.

I said "goal contributions," and not just goals. Weren't you the same person who mentioned me and said that strikers aren't judged by their goals alone? Why switch to double standards when it comes to Dessers?

Going by the metric of goal contributions i.e goals and assists per game, here are the statistics of the players you mentioned:

1) Boniface: 9 goal contributions in 15 matches gives an average of 0.6

2) Tolu: 16 goal contributions in 19 matches gives an average of 0.8

3) Maja: 12 goal contributions in 19 matches gives an average of 0.6

4) Cyriel Dessers: 17 goal contributions in 24 matches gives an average of 0.7

You're trying to pass off the false impression that Dessers isn't playing as well as all the players you mentioned despite the fact that he's playing in a so-called farmer's league but as you can see, in terms of goal contributions, Cyriel Dessers is actually outperforming all the players you mentioned apart from Tolu whose form this season came as a surprise to everyone because last season Tolu had just 18 goal contributions while Dessers had an incredibly impressive 31 goal contributions.

So my brother, you tell me, what are we talking about here? 🤷🏽‍♂️😀
I focused on goals because that is what we are lacking in the SE and besides 4 assists in 23 matches in the Scottish league is not remarkable to be making fuss about,I also talked about league quality and starting berth, seems you missed that one, in the end Dessers is our 5th best striker all things considered, it's cute that you are fighting for him but those who watch him regularly know he is not that good

NB he has 16 goal contributions according to transfer market not 17

The midfield doesn’t have any trouble our coaches aren’t selecting their best available players and formations. A midfield that consists of iwobi, dele bashiru, uche (getafe) ndidi, onyedika, onyeka and even aribo. It’s presently as good as any team in Africa.

We're lacking goals in the S.E because the so called big players in the big leagues have been misfiring for the Super Eagles.

Explain to me how Boniface who plays in the Bundesliga has 0 goals in 11 matches for the Super Eagles while Dessers who plays in a farmer's league has 2 goals in 6 matches.

Explain to me how Awoniyi who plays in the English Premier league has 2 goals in 10 matches for the Super Eagles while Dessers who plays in a farmer's league has 2 goals in 6 matches.

Explain to me how Sadiq who plays in La Liga has 1 goal in 12 matches for the Super Eagles while Dessers who plays in a farmer's league has 2 goals in 6 matches.

Explain to me how Onuachu who plays in the English Premier League has 3 goals in 25 matches for the Super Eagles while Dessers who plays in a farmer's league has 2 goals in 6 matches.

The fact that Dessers who plays in a farmer's league has a better Super Eagles record than those who play in the top leagues is a big shame to them and it speaks volumes. It means they're not as good as people think they are.

NB: Dessers' assists didn't all come in the Scottish league. He has 2 assists in the Europa League according to the Europa League's official website but for some reason, Transfermarkt is yet to update their record.

Putting that into consideration, when you add his 2 Europa League assists to the 4 recorded on Transfermarkt, you can see that it's not even 5 assists he has; it's actually 6 assists which means he has 18 goal contributions in 24 matches. grin 😎

Consider? You make it sound mild. We need to BAG HIM!!! Kayode that recently won Golden Boy Best Italian Talent? He is badly needed. Italy not rating him is our gain.
