flyinnizam:You and the person you quoted are talking from two angles 1. Absolutely ignorance. 2. Tribal prejudice. I would have educated you, but, it would only be an effort in futility, because, your ears have been blocked by ethnic biases. |

descarado:Your geography teacher failed you.. Firstly you need to understand what landlocked means.. SE is landlocked and doesn’t have access to the sea so it can’t have seaport… the ports in PH and delta state are functioning at the moment . Federal Government is even giving ships discount that berts in PH and delta, cos ships will rather Bert where is closer(you need to go read what nautical miles to the sea means) I don’t know you but trust me if you have a vessel, you will rather barrt in Lagos in Nigeria than going to Bert in other states Soon the lekki seaport will even be more busy cos it can take larger vessels/ships that comes to Nigeria.. and guess what? The lekki seaport wasn’t a federal government project. Before una start to dey accuse federal government of marginalization again. Furthermore, it’s not seaport that drives development. Your leaders in Nigeria are lazy.. there are countries in Europe and Middle East without seaport and they are doing fine economically than countries with seaports. Having a seaport doesn’t mean your state/country will develop more than a state/country that’s landlocked .. |

JustYourself:When it comes to the turn of Abia, all of a sudden the story changes to all states needs an airport . What about the one at Enugu? If it were to be another state now, we would have been educated about the distance between that state and Lagos and if in the north , we would have been told how Abuja and Kano airports are closer. Hypocrisy does not have another name and meaning . |

Another project to steal money. When will our leaders ever get it right. Even the ones you trust will turn out to be like the previous ones. I know the gullible ones will be sentimental about it and support him |

BlueStripper:Don't mind the fool. Abia is one of the states with the lowest VAT. If businesses are closing down or aren't making enough money, where are they going to get the money to pay for flights? Besides how many number of people in Aba travels via flight on a daily? Confirmed white elephant project! |

descarado:Despite your persistent claims, Lagos continues to progress while you spread misinformation and wailing. The Southeast is landlocked, and seaports aren't the sole indicator of development. Many countries without seaports are thriving. It's time to move beyond propaganda and acknowledge the facts, rather than perpetuating a false narrative of marginalization. |

Another white elephant project . There is a nearby airport in owerri |
| Re: Governor Otti Set To Build An Airport In Abia, Begins Community Engagement by promami: 10:25am On Dec 10, 2024 |
ComeToJesus:Enugu airport is close to people from Abia North. The people in Abia South uses Port Harcourt airport cos it's closer than Owerri. The rail line would be the most genius thing they can do. Cos it'll help facilitate travels within the state plus logistics for locally made goods at a very cheap cost which in turn will facilitate economic growth. |

BlueStripper:you know nothing... But let me educate you small.... If they can be honest to themselves, Abia boast big economy that can rival any south west state... In Aba millions of Nigerians from all corner of the country and neighbouring countries flood Aba every day for businesses.. I live very close to popular Ekeoha shopping centre that house fabric market and accessories.... This very market, start from 2am morning till midnight 12am next day, i knw so many times i house traders that came all the way from ghana , lagos , Cameroon.. and as far as mali to buy from that market..... The biggest customer that frequent that market are mostly alhajis from north... I know of a friend who wss doing business there, i asked him one certain times , does it mean these northerners can not open similar shops in their abode and cut the stress of coming to aba every week to buy goods .. he told me they can't ... Because only these Igbos traders know where they can buy this materials in china.... 90% of people trading in that fabric market, import from china , some of them has relatives they sent to live in China that transact for them to cut traveling expenses, if you go there every sunday, hundreds of thousands of containers lines to be offloaded. I'm not telling U other popular markets like ariaria Aba that deal with international market... You belittled Aba due to Ur hatred for Igbos but I think it's hight time U come out from that, tap from the Abrahambic blessings flowing in blood stream of any Igbo.. these are people the entire nation failed to extinct... You do think all these sky liners that scattered everywhere on aba are built by whom Those traders, a plot of land in central of Aba goes for 200m naira, this is same Aba u think that in Ur league, if truth can be say.. Aba alone generate more revenue than some of south western states... Airport in Aba will be added bonus to the citizens... What ever that will cut short MMA traffic will be a welcome development... Stop hating while the real people that want and like progress are tapping from business acumen of Igbo people |

Wisdomkosi:He should have built the airport at Ukwa West Close to IMO gate. It would have served both pH as it will be closer to PH and AbA than omagwa airport. |

BlueStripper:Some foolish Obidients will come for your head now. Abia is close to rivers and there is international airport in portharcourt and the governor still want to build an airport. Those goats will not see any wrong in it but would have condemned it if it was another region or Apc controlled state. A smart governor will rather go for a seaport project. |

It is clear now that our governors are obsessed with Airports. In a country where hunger is endemic amongst citizens... |

Waste of money. Isiala Ngwa is less than 30 minutes from Owerri Airport. Otti should rather engage with FG and use that money to modernize Aba to PH rail for fast evacuation of goods to seaport for export. |
