For the umpteenth time, this morning I received the 60-day reminder that my case is DQ and
''...is awaiting an interview appointment. At this time, no further action is required. We appreciate your patience.
Your case will remain at NVC until an appointment is scheduled, at which time we will send it to the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate General. We will notify the applicant, petitioner, and attorney (if applicable) when an appointment is scheduled.

The U.S. Embassy or Consulate tells NVC which dates they are holding interviews. NVC fills these appointments on a first-in, first-out basis and is unable to predict when an interview will be scheduled.
"

I really wonder why the Lagos Consulate decided to treat our Category this way; kept-in-wait for 23 months plus whereas if (and when) the Visa is granted, they expect one to promptly pack up and travel to the US within six months!

Their advice that 'The applicant should not make... other travel arrangements' may not be welcome in 2025.
May God make a way in this soon or in another emigration pathway, according to His will to make our joy full.

I know the wait is hard, but hang in there, we will soon smile.

No rhyme or reason for the delay and dearth of information. Options going forward.

a. For the patient ones, stay patient. It's challenging considering other life choices that hang around such decision. Not sure how efficient the two day interview process starting in January will help speed up things for interview dates.

Spain , Salvador and i think India (Non-immigrant process) are using this process. Not sure how efficient the process is though relative to increased number of dates available for scheduling. Time will tell.

b. May look into transferring case to a post if you have resident permit to such post. Due diligence is strongly adviced. (I am not going through this route though.)

c. This may not be feasible for some. For those who see the US as a means to an end and not necessarily the end to all things, I will suggest re-evaluate alternate path/ countries you are comfortable with to thrive in your field of interest. Recalibrate and do proper research to see if this is worth it. Disclaimer: I Lean more towards this camp for personal reasons

Lastly you may want to check out USmissions Twitter account or American spaces facebook or whatsapp page.

to stay up to date on info. They seem to have monthly zoom call with diplomats or career officers from the consulate/embassy. Hit or miss sessions. This can be an avenue to send in questions about the EB class plight to get more info.

I developed this software that create and tailors your resume to match each job applications your are applying to and the first test user in the UK got a job offer witthin a week of using it.
I am posting here beacsue it will help a lot of people navigating the job market. The software will generate new CV and cover letter that match the job description for each job, you can also use it to track Job applications and practice interviews. elevateme dot ng

This is a good question. Yes, it does. The IL mainly depends on the principal applicant.

Not at the initial stage. Submit your Form or Petition, get acknowledgement receipt and wait. If approved they will ask you to send Certain documents i.e. copy of Passport Data Page, Birth certificate, Police Report, Marriage/Divorce Certs as applicable, Payment for Immigrant Visa receipt. If all checks well, you will be informed that you are Document Qualified and should wait for an Interview Letter if you are based outside USA otherwise, once your Priority Date becomes current, you may proceed with Adjustment of Status when already in the USA.
Visit the USCIS website for up-to-date information about the process and requirements.

Not sure there's any issue to warrant travel ban if truly the issues raised in 2019 (correct info sharing for national security) back then was resolved. At this point, we just wait and see what the administration intend doing.

Hi everyone,

I attended my H1B visa interview on December 5th, and it was approved. The consular officer pointed out that I made a mistake with my birthdate, but she corrected it. When I checked the status on CEAC Tracker https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV, it still shows "Approved, but not issued." It’s been 6 days, and I’m wondering how long it typically takes to receive the passport back. I have a flight on Friday, so any insights would be appreciated.

Has anyone who had their interview on December 5th received their passport yet? Thanks in advance!
