When youths start now they will say they are killing the army. Maybe these old men want to confess and expose the military secret in that community... That's why being held so police and lawyers won't intefer.. So as pressure on their release the military decided to silence them

When I see things happening in our side most times I shed tears. When two brothers are fighting, the enemy will come in.

We can only see this type of inhumane treatment on the side of oppressed people,it has never happened in the North and will never. There is no place in our constitution where military will detain people to a point they die without consequences, this is happening because my riverine brothers choose to castigate his elder brother Igbo just to satisfy our common enemy.

They know if there is unity between the two brothers, and oppression of such cannot take place.
who made igbos elder brother of anybody?

i thought Kanu and now Ekpa are still in custody?

why has the "elder brother" not ensured their release?

If the 81 years old community leader had led the community well the youths won't have behaved like animals and killed the soldiers...
The soldiers that were killed have fathers and sons too. The bad leadership of these men led to the loss of husbands, fathers, sons and brothers
This should actually be a lesson for everyone father, raise your children well so they don't bring problem homw

We complained when the community brutally murdered 17 soldiers on a peace keeping mission. WE KNEW THE ARMY WAS GOING TO RAZE THE COMMUNITY AND RETALIATE
But truth be told, these are not the culprits- ---- the youths have fled and a competent security law enforcement agency can fish them out intelligently.

Government should have mercy and pardon the aged and elderly let them go home in peace.

How many soldiers are slaughtered weekly and yearly in the North by terrorists?!!

Since using civilians to count scores when soldiers are attacked is the order of the day, then a quarter of the Northern youths and elders ought to have been arrested, tortured and killed in custody by now.

Such double standards won't help this disunited nation.

This is very tragic, a community leader trusted like this. And everyone in the community is silent.

Those who trade their liberties for security often loose both.

Imagine a region that produces the Oil that tinubu and his gang of thieves embezzle being treated this way but mandate thief was quick to apologize to his Fulani masters like a slave when Nigerian Air Force jet killed innocent northerners. Only an irredeemable fool believes there is anything like one Nigeria. Nigeria can never be one, will get worse daily and can never progress even in the next 500 years as one. country
How can you blame tulumbu and his gang of thieves when those producing the oil are happy and contended with guarding pipelines for a token to enable them opress their fellow southerners?

You yourself said Terrorists----that explains it!

A soldier or police going to fight
Deadly terrorists, Armed robbers, knows he might not return and has kissed his family goodbye!

But come on, these are civilians communities that Armed forces were sent on PEACE KEEPING MISSION. just a regular civic job .

Normal people civilians just quarreling at least respect Emissaries , Local traditional chiefs , local government chairmen, Royal Father's , Religious Leaders ,sent on peace keeping.

They did not come to fight or fight War or tankers to exchange Fire as in the case of armed robbers or Terrorists battle.
The brutal murdering. Of the soldiers is highly condemnable and so uncalled for!!!!!

So?!! Did the arrested elders murder them?

Do you have any proof of their involvement?

So, if a son chooses to kill or murder someone, his father and entire family should be arrested and tortured for it?!!

Who told you the killers of the soldiers are not terrorists? Or you think terrorists are restricted to the North?!!

Why not simply work with police and community leaders to fish out the culprits rather than acting so barbarically?

So, soldiers no longer have discipline or now have the right to take revenge by harming innocent people?!!

What soldiers do in the Southern parts of Nigeria can never happen in the North... This is just the issue.

undecided

This does not make sense.

You are saying everybody in Okuama got together in one accord and killed those soldiers. That simply isn't true.

But Nigerians love the fetters that the military routinely place them in. Several comments on these boards (day in day out) prove this beyond any doubt. That means the injustice will continue.

The only difference with Nigerian democracy and military regimes is that there is election every 4years, Nigerian democracy has targeted innocent civilians, while military regimes target corrupt politicians

Trust me, aside from Bubu that was treating those bandits with kid gloves, the current Nigerian Army dey waste them like toilet papers. When last did you hear of rehabilitation? Turaj or wetin be his name has vanished to Libya. PBAP is not joking with the bandits. Before they start feeling at home, our boys takes the fight to them and send them to go and meet the 20 virgins immediately !

When you confront the present Nigerian Army, na to collect wotowoto.

You hear?

I keep saying Nigerians deserve the kind of leaders they get. Imagine sharing a country with people of your thinking. It is indeed a sorry state for the future ones. You turned a blind eyes to the due process. Can you proof that it's those youths that actually killed those that were killed. Above all, it's someone else turn today, might be your turn tomorrow. Stop supporting evil

Shut up you bigot. The Military has severally bombed innocent civilians in the north with a drone attack killing over 30+ people this year.

Let them start. This is the consequence of killing 17 soldiers on peace duty. Let them start and see what will be left of that community.

You are deviating from my question and position...!

Let me keep it simple!

Should Nigerian Army be arresting and torturing civilians to death in retaliation for their murdered colleagues?

Is that what they are doing up North?!!

Is that how soldiers are supposed to act in a democracy?!!
Re: Okuama Leader, Dennis Okugbaye, Dies In Military Custody by TUTU147: 8:49am On Dec 12, 2024
The military should not push some of these boys into taking up arms against the military and the government,it is so sad that the way the south is treated is different from the north.
Re: Okuama Leader, Dennis Okugbaye, Dies In Military Custody by Jman06(m): 8:50am On Dec 12, 2024
The way the Nigerian army and government swiftly deal with southern agitators in comparison with northerners truly calls for sober reflection. Some criminals up north have been unleashing mayhem on Nigerians in the region but the federal government has never taken a hard stance to put a stop on their numerous atrocities. But once the matter involves southerners, the military suddenly becomes effective in unleashing terror on agitators.

Some animals are indeed more equal than others.
