The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike has defended the demolition of properties in the nation’s seat of power, saying he won’t be swayed by blackmail.

Wike said the structures being demolished by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) are properties illegally built on government lands.

“Let me use this opportunity to tell Nigerians and residents of Abuja, we are not afraid of blackmailing,” the minister said during the distribution of operational vehicles to security agencies at the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja on Thursday.

“In fact, you cannot be in this kind of position and say you cannot be blackmailed particularly as regards this Abuja. There are so many land grabbers. Some of us have come to put our feet down. Let heaven fall. It is even better that heaven comes down now so that we would not be fasting again to go to heaven.”

The FCTA has been sending warnings for months about this payment and those who took government land.Nigerians most times don't like doing the needful till the government applies force.This is a way of generating revenue also.You want Wike to build road,hospital,etc but don't want to pay your fees ,where will the money come from.
Going behind to beg him,and coming out to blackmail the minister is bad.
The minister should please give them more time.

If you see Nigerians crying that they're hungry, you'd think they'd support any effort to reduce or end hunger. For example, after discovering that many Nigerians are dying of hunger and hunger-related issues, a social worker called on the Nigerian government at all levels to declare a state of emergency on food security in Nigeria and set up soup kitchens in every ward. Surprisingly, Nigerians refused to support the call. I'm sure you wouldn't believe it.

Until Nigerians learn to get up and make demands from these stvpid politicians, they should get ready to suffer for ever. That's because conscienceless 'leaders' like Wike will always abuse them and get away with it.

But the fact is that, even if anyone tries to make the demand, the same Nigerians would make him hate himself for trying. Make I stop disturbing myself abeg.
