For one thing, the USA system is full of checks and balances, so no promise is guaranteed. Anyone can check on President Obama's major, repeated 2008 campaign promise to close the Guantanamo Bay Prison. The prison is still open and operational. The list of unfulfilled campaign promises is endless.

I have a few friends and family, including an Arab Muslim immigrant man and a Black American woman, who explicitly voted for Trump on that basis.

The Muslim immigrant believed and still insists there will be no mass deportation beyond criminals aliens. Mr Trump has already signaled in the recent full length CBS interview that he will not deport the Dreamers and will "work with Congress to do something for them to stay." I believe I got the quote right.

The Muslim immigrant voted for Trump because of all the transgender extremism on the Democrat side.

The Black American woman told me she couldn't vote for Ms Harris because the main Democrat campaign issue was abortion. It was very surprising to me. She also doesn't think Trump will do anything to hamper abortion access.

Someone told me days back that the people who voted for him, some of them know that he is a liar and are calling bluff the things that he said he would do because they don't think he will go through with them because he usually lies. The person then further said that they are not that smart because if they knew Trump very well, despite him being a pathological liar if there is one thing he doesn't lie about it's his policies. This is in part why some Latinos voted for him too because they don't think he would go through with it.

Then I remembered the stupid policies he tried to implement during his first term but was restrained then. Then it made sense, the people who restrained him during his first term are no more.
