Groundnut oil is no more extant. What is available is fake refined vegetable oil/palm oil and fake palm kernel oil.

Please can you throw light on how one can identify it in the new container, and even where?

Thanks.

When I was in Junior Secondary School, one boy used to deceive us that the oil is extracted from that long thing around the turkey nose.

That's actually "pure vegetable oil" got from processed or bleached palm oil NOT pure groundnut oil. These were sold in the department stores around major cities around Nigeria such as UTC, Leventis, and the iconic Kingsway Stores.

I remember there were other brands back in the 1980s and 1990s that came in the same type of this Turkey Vegetable Oil cans in the attached picture as well. Those were indeed memorable times.

Indeed, you did well for attaching that clear image of the Turkey Vegetable oil brand showing its country of origin and more for the argumentative youngster to see.

That's exactly what I corrected the OP for in my earlier post on this thread. The Turkey Vegetable oil we knew from the 1980s is simply bleached palm oil imported from Asia NOT "pure groundnut oil" which could easily be got from the North of Nigeria. These are the basic facts that the older folks knew about and it's always good to be around to correct misleading historical information from some of the younger posters online and offline.

Thank you for the correction mr know it all. Why don't you try correcting the problems in Nigeria.

In Nigeria every cooking oil is called groundnut oil,
Every toothpaste is Maclean's
Every noodles is called indomie

The list goes on.

Hope you knew this one

Stop cooking with seed oils.
All these groundnut and vegetable oils are nit good for you.
Mostly if you are diabetic or have hbp.

Olive oil, Tallow, palm oil, ghee, coconut oil are the best.
Sir, I hope you most most vegetable oils in the market are refined palm oil eg Mamador, King's oil Power oil etc.

I am okay with these since they are derived from refined red palm oil and not seed oil.

Ghee is Butter .Ghee Tallow Coconut oil Palm oil is still Saturated Fats SFA blocking arteries causing coronary heart diseases.
I00g/100ml Palm oil contains 49g saturated fats . Heart association recommends all humans to desist from Consuming more than 15-20g saturated fat in a day. It blocks arteries
Well, I kinda disagree. What people should desist from is excessive carb intake.

Fats aren't the cause of blocked arteries. It is the effect of having excessive carb (sugar) in the blood.

Fats are good.
I take saturated fats wella and less of carbs.

My opinion sha.

I come in peace.

Ogakokorokoman:
palm oil is far healthier than these oil, palm nuts are fruits, palm oil is healthy.
It's so nice to come across someone who thinks otherwise from the norm.

Palm oil is bea! Anything I add it to my meals, it smoothens and softens my skin and makes it glow.

Palm oil that is abundant in Vitamin A and rare form of vitamin E - tocotrienol, which is more powerful than regular vitamin E - tocopherol, which is mostly available as supplements.

Kudos to you sir!
Enjoy your palm oil.
