You can't just be wailing for no sensible reason. How can government embark on new projects without demolition? Do those people have proper documentations for their lands?

You can't just be opposing any government moves
So the Chinda they want to give the land to is the new project abi. U see someone who wants to rob Peter to pay Paul u are here talking about development and new project.

There was no proper documentation of the land since it was a gift to develop Abuja at the time.

I remember, some people were being begged to come and live in Abuja or work because no one was interested going there so those who moved there then enjoyed it.
Then Government should issue proper Documentation to the Deceased Colonel's family and get a memorandum of understanding.. He served his fatherland faithfully. If it's not road they want to erect there but buildings; there is way to settle this amicably.
The other day, it was Landmark properties Lagos. The other day, it was Dangote factory versus Kogi government.
Venturing into Real estates in Nigeria is crazy. One Regime approves a land ,two Nigerian Regimes later, another Nigeria government revokes approval and is interested in the land for something else without enough compensation, Different Regimes going different directions.

El-Rufai did worse!

In situations like these, there has to be plans in place to compensate them - development is a good thing, but it has to follow due process!

Don't just come and spill nonsense here oga!

Put your self in her place - 42 years, all that you have laboured for just taken over night from you without due process or a plan for compensation?

Think am now
Tranquill:
Exactly what the FCT Authorities are saying. They gave your husband a temporary site to mobilize his equipments to execute his contracts. It was never his land. You applied to make it a permanent property and approval was given with some conditions which you decided not to honour.

Anyone who knows this madam would know that she would have been in court by now if she has proper documentation to prove they own the land instead of the tv and verydarkdirty social media man and Femi Fani-Kayode’s errand boy called Deji Adeyanju.

She and her family have made free no stress money from Abuja since 80s ranging
from choice plots from Maitama to Asokoro ,Zone 4. She's been avoiding and evading government through the backdoor. She even owns hotels and Bars in highbrow areas of Abuja.

I will advise that she takes steps to ensure that these other properties are properly documented so that she won’t be acting the part 2 of this soap opera.
They should simply calculate the total fees accrued and reach an agreement memorandum of understanding; Draw out a plan for them to pay all fees/ accrued to government per square meters and Formalise the land with proper Documentation

She should be allowed to pay what is owed within a new and short timeframe and regain the land. Cheap emotional blackmail like the minister was 14 bla bla is beside the point.

My understanding is that the they failed to comply with full of payment of accrued charges to regularise ownership of the real estate within the stipulated timeline. There are punishment for such acts. In Us, uk e.t.c failure to pay property tax on a house may lead to house forfeiture. Nigerians don't like to follow rules and only dictatorial tendencies seems to get result with us. I bet she is begging to now pay the token instead of losing ownership. You cant own a 3.5 billion property and find it hard to pay less than 50 million naira charges of almost 40years.

She claimed building and land is worth over 3.5 billion naira, how come paying less than 50 million is now hard? Even banks will lend the family such money easily.
It is unbelievable that people are supporting her. The bill was given to her since Feb last year, she ignored them.

I'm sure people working in that company would have raised the matter, but as usual, dictatorial ownership will ignore professional advice. Now she's crying on national TV.

Like the person you quoted , rightly said- Banks should be able to lend out that money for them to pay up and formalise the land with proper Documentation.

Government can even add Late-charges to Next of kin.

The 84years old might be senile already. Joe Biden at 82 is no longer sharp and coherent that is why Kamala stepped up to replace him .

That hotel I can bet does not have right papers as well.

That hotel is under electricity transmission lines. Infact, the swimming pool is directly under high voltage transmission lines of TCN. It is only in Nigeria you see such.

In the future when a govt alive to its responsibilities comes around to complain bout the properties under transmission lines of TCN, they'll start crying that they have been there for years, whereas for those years, they perpetuated their illegal sit-tight through unethical influence with different govts.

It's not demolition for Govt project. Reports say that the land has been reallocated to someone who has paid for it. Why the rush? Was the family given first right of refusal to acquire the land legally if Wike claims they acquired it illegally. 40 years is too long to just snatch and demolish. Let the court settle it
She gree go court? No be social media and television be the court she dy use so? Abi you no hear say El rufai once issued a quit notice to her for that land sometime ago when he was the FCT minister? She doesn’t have the CofO to that land and a notice has been issued to her with conditions since Feb 2023 to pay 44m to regularize the ownership of the land which until Oct 2024 those conditions weren’t met. Follow events keenly without sentiments. These elites grabbed lands all over Abuja using the military and there a many others like them who are rushing to regularize their ownerships. Last month the FCT minister published over 9200 names in the newspaper who are owing rents on their property. Imagine how much money FCT will get in their coffers for projects if even half of that number pays up.

Try and watch both sides of the argument.
Arise TV (Rufai/Abati/??) interviewed both side to give an account of what really transpired.they are on YouTube.
They can approach the court to address It if they got proper documentation.
Abati and Rufai kept asking if legal option will be entertained, the response they gave says it all.
Approach court for what? Nigerian court is a kangaroo court bought by the government. You can't win a government in that court

Anybody who knows Abuja very well from past Presidents to past FCT Ministers should know Rita Lori and her family. These are the earlier sets of people who came to Abuja when every where was bush, in fact when they came to Abuja, IBB was still operating from Lagos as the capital even though the Capital city had been moved to Abuja since the 70s. So how does Wike revoke not empty lands but built up land they have occupied for over 40 years and re-allocate it to his kinsmen Kingsley Chinda. You see in any of these Wike's moves, there is always a personal agenda he has.

I have been to Rita-Lori hotel several times in the past. I have lodged there, clubbed there and used their swimming several times many years ago when I used to frequent Surulere. I can honestly tell you that the location is scary. Buildings moreso a hotel shouldn't be under the high tension but because she got that location during the military era with her military connection and the fact that Rita-Lori Hotel has become like a landmark in Surulere, everyone overlooks how scary the scenario is when you are driving through there.

Abeg make una de calm down for this Nigeria ooo. Obviously, some people are more Nigerian than others. There are super Nigerians Eg. Nyesom Wike and ordinary Nigerians eg, You and your family 😉😀

If the government's move is to confiscate the people's properties and gives same to their friends, we will oppose that . You can't just wake up one morning and begin to destroy people's properties and give the land to your friends. People have been occupying that land for over 40 years with their legal document. Just because you have become a Minister you are revoking the ownership and giving same to your friend. Is that not devilish and evil ? What exactly do you guys called corruption? Is Wike a Minister to enrich himself and his friends with the people's properties?

I stand with Wike and any Nigerian not standing by Woke is an enemy of the country. I am presently in Europe and I see many Nigerians doing mental jobs here and there because things are not going on fine in the country just because Nigerians like to behave lawlessly. Woke is on the side of the law and the law should take it's course

That someone had illegally been occupying a property for 40 years does not mean that property will now become his own.

Telling me Wike was a teenager when a crime was committed does not nullify the crime.

Saying your husband served Nigeria as a military man does not nullify a crime

Saying your husband was 001 in the NDA does not nullify the crime.

Those are emotional blackmail. If this family feels aggrieved , they should go to court.

No,he was not born 1963. He was born circa 1954. Thus bringing his age to 70.

Tinubu was 50 in 1993 during Abiola wahala.
But he is claiming 71 this year. That's politicians for you. They don't reveal their real age. Just like civil servants.

People should realize that no one is above the law. You are on a land you never paid government on, Entitlement is not a Right. The minister has all the Right to revoke any land that does not meet the predetermined requirements. Here ,shamelessly people are calling for the military to deal with Hon Minister Wike just Why? Come into FCT and see the wonderful works this man has done in months, comparably better than what the last 8 years Serving Minister did in his Tenure. Listen to both side and see if you won’t switch side. Even Very Dark Man now believes he is a Journalist. Wetin person never see for this country?
