I don't really want to say this about VP Shettima but "Why is he so pissed off, or what is he so pissed off about when it concerns Kemi?" Did VP Shettima sponsor Kemi to UK on full scholarship or something? What exactly is pissing VP Shettima off about Kemi who is actually exercising her rights in the UK? Does VP Shettima want to kind of go to the UK and enforce Nigerian anti-feminist rules upon her? I respect our Vice President, but is he supposed to be doing this if the so called Kemi is neither owing him a penny or related to him in any way? Why is he asking Kemi to drop her Yoruba name? Guys with all due respect to the personality and the office of our VP, I think our VP is . . . Ok let me not say it. Remain Blessed!

Kemi Was Completely Out of Line Let’s set the record straight: VP Shettima had every right to call Kemi out. His position as a Vice President and holder of the GCON title obligates him to defend Nigeria against baseless attacks, especially from someone who ought to know better. 1. Kemi’s Actions Were Unnecessary and Disrespectful • Kemi exercised her rights, yes, but with rights come responsibility. Criticism of Nigeria is valid when constructive; hers was neither. She chose to disparage the country in a manner that adds nothing to meaningful dialogue. This isn’t “free speech”—it’s self-serving drivel masquerading as activism. • If Kemi had a real grievance, she could have addressed it respectfully or through a forum where her opinions might foster solutions—not global embarrassment. 2. VP Shettima’s Role • VP Shettima didn’t respond as a private citizen throwing a tantrum. He acted as a defender of national dignity. It’s his duty to protect Nigeria’s image on all fronts. Criticizing him for doing what his office demands is misguided. • His response is a reminder that leadership doesn’t mean tolerating every baseless attack in silence. Nationalism isn’t a crime; it’s a virtue, especially when representing a country like Nigeria, often unfairly maligned on global platforms. 3. National Pride Isn’t a Joke • Using an analogy “If someone urinated on your sick mother, would you smile or fight for her dignity?”. Kemi didn’t merely criticize policies—she insulted the essence of her own country while benefiting from the privilege of being associated with it. If that doesn’t anger you, your sense of national pride is questionable. • Patriotism demands that we hold our leaders accountable while also defending our country. Kemi failed on both counts. Instead of raising valid concerns, she chose to demean. 4. Tribal and Feminist Excuses Are Baseless • The anti-feminism claim is an attempt to deflect from the real issue: Kemi’s actions, not her gender, were inappropriate. If Shettima asked her to drop her Yoruba name, she should disassociate herself without urinating on Nigerians willy nilly. Even that still pales in comparison to her public insults to Nigeria. Stop making strawman arguments to distract from her disrespect. 5. What About Other Countries? • If Kemi were from the USA and disparaged it with such venom, a leader like Trump wouldn’t let her breathe without a public takedown. Yet because it’s Shettima—a leader known for his measured approach—you question his response. Hypocrisy much? • Nigeria, like every country, deserves to be defended. Shettima’s critics often conflate patriotism with authoritarianism, which is intellectually dishonest. 6. Kemi’s “Worst Association With Nigeria” • The sheer disappointment in her behavior. People who benefit from Nigeria’s identity, directly or indirectly, have an obligation to protect it—not tear it apart for cheap clout. She represents the worst kind of national betrayal: one driven by ignorance and self-importance. • Your questions about why Shettima is upset reveal a lack of understanding of leadership responsibilities. He isn’t “pissed off” for personal reasons—he’s defending Nigeria’s image on the world stage. Kemi’s actions warrant criticism, not indulgence. • Instead of whining about Shettima’s response, ask yourself why Kemi felt entitled to insult her homeland while hiding behind foreign privileges. That’s the real issue. Kemi was wrong—entirely. VP Shettima was right to call her out, any Nigerian with national honors should follow suit. Criticism of a country should build, not destroy. Kemi’s actions achieved nothing but ridicule, and VP Shettima’s response was justified, necessary, and, frankly, overdue. I hope this answers your questions. An insult to One is an insult to All. Look at the attachment below, Kemi has been reported by her own staff to being a bully and 3 of her staff quit because of her inappropriateness at her workplace. Shettima has a fulfilling career in the banking sector, as governor and now VP. He is not the one known for bullying and work place toxicity.

Kemi, IMO, is emotionally unintelligent, bellicose and carrying unresolved issues. That much is clear from joining issues with others in ways that will surely damage her political aspirations and permanent interest. Nonetheless, I think Shetimma is riled by personal guilty conscience at failing, with actions, to solve problems for Nigerians and is thus ready to jump on development like this, with words and rhetoric, to play hero against our 'common enemy'. This helps divert attention away from his personal failings as a leader who has ridiculed the notion "to whom much is given much is expected" and whitewash his image as a 'champion' defender of Nigeria. That will do for most Nigerians who are simple-minded enough to then credit Shetimma with being a good and responsible VP. Yet discerning, exposed and critical thinking Nigerians will understand Kemi's anger that Nigeria, because of leaders like Shetimma, has regressed to be 100 years behind the UK. Whereas the fifties held so much promises of a Nigeria set to develop and evolve like the UK only for the leaders from independence in 1960 and beyond, onwards to the era of 'democratic leaders' like Shetimma and co, grounding Nigeria in poverty, hopelessness, deprivation, terrorism, banditry, and even avoidable killings caused by Nigeria being forced to endure with archaic practices, like open grazing of cattle across a nation, jetissoned centuries ago in many developed nation of the world. Of course I can understand and relate with the anger of Kemi. My issues with her is that she appears deeply troubled, vendetta-driven and guilty of opportunist use of Nigeria to trend and burnish her image since she only ever only sees and talks of negatives about our nation. Whereas my issue with Shetimma, FFK and co is that they should tone down the hypocritical and self-righteous indignation against Kemi because the collective misrule of their generations of leaders put us in the positions to be her favourite gaslighting topic today and whenever she is seeking to detract from her poor performance as leader of the opposition so far. |

ayo2008:Those are allegations you cannot prove. You should refrain from dealing in hearsay and sidetalk if a person genuinely and mainly concerned with leaders providing solutions to drive Nigeria towards developed nation status. If critical thinking you should be focusing on what matters progressively for Nigeria. For example, you should be querying Shetimma's effort to secure education for the entire North and end the redundant practices of almajiri system that are both causes of illiteracy, youth restiveness and unemployment which combine to be effective recruitment Sergeants for terrorism, banditry and kidnapping gangs across the North. My concern is that so many expensively educated Northern leaders, from Shetimma to SLS and co, are good at eloquently talking the talk but not one appears able to walk the walk, like Awolowo, leading to the North now having one of the worst human development index on Earth and contributing 87% to the number of most poverty-stricken Nigerians. |

ayo2008:lol......Thats your proof. It was said online. I am sure you also belief Buhari was cloned to Jubril El sudan I actually thought i was talking to someone intellectual and rational I have noted your moniker. I wont be replying you again. Before you tell me next time, its online that they use albino's to make money. Do you know the world intelligence, FBI,CIA,MI5,Interpol would not allow Shettima into some meetings or come close to some presidents. If there is good proof he is BH. Dont read online and come and say it with so much conviction. It makes you sound not only gullible but spiced with stupidity. I had some respect for you till you mentioned "Go and check online" |

The colour of her problem is exactly what I don't understand. There is no society with its own attendant issues and problem. Take for example the question she was asked in the interview about the police department, nothung in the question mentioned or made reference to nigeria, but she chose -as she is always wont to do- to bring nigeria into her question and denigrate the country in the process. If the police department where she reside is that great that she can find no fault in them but to point out the issue plaguing nigeria, why do they have black lives matter and all other sorts of movement against the police department. Police allegedly colluding with criminals and all other sorts. There is sunshine everywhere. |

UltraSolid:The bolded is straight on and them not being able to walk their eloquent speech that sounds intelligent. I have not followed the activities of the VP much since he was a governor so I won't say anything on him. But you see Emir SLS, I expected much from him when he was turbaned the first time but I guess he wasn't that intelligent as I expected but just full of controversies. Now, he has been turbaned the second time, he has not really learnt from his first mistake not to get involved in mischievous politics so now he has chosen a more cunning way to appeal to his audience making it feel that he intends to bring change to their cultural way of life in his home state and in the North. He is talking but his speeches seems to not fall on him to walk the talk but he is directing it to another to follow the talk and walk. In his capacity he should be someone who is the forerunner on such things. |

MaiDeribe:You sat down to analyse and condemn kemi for disparaging Nigeria but the same you will form deaf and dumb to the situation in Nigeria. Even a paragraph to analyse the situation millions of Nigeria find themselves in, you will not dare write about it. You are the type that will prefer Nigerians should suffer in silence for bad roads, bad health care, falling education standards, inflation, unemployment because it embarrasses the country. Your type will praise and hail Nigeria leaders for going to Europe and North America to enjoy proceeds of good governance but rebuke Nigerians who complain about proceeds of bad governance from the same leaders you praise |
