Good day, fellas. About the pastor who left Winners offended(based on assumption don't take it personal). I am not a member of winners but from his messages online, it's obvious that the pastor felt hurt and left the church offended. Although, I perceive that he has refused to express his reasons. I think the pastor felt that Bishop David Oyedepo didn't treat him the way he wanted or there are things he expected Bishop David Oyedepo to do for him wish he didn't do. N.B: Before you start insulting yourselves, I only made an assumption based on his messages online. The messages seem to be pointing at Bishop David Oyedepo.

According to earlier reports, Bishop Abioye retired due to reaching the age limit stipulated by the Living Faith Church’s operational guidelines which serves as the church’s constitution.

The church policy, often referred to as the “Liberation Mandate”, was reportedly revised to set the retirement age for pastors at 58 from 60.

“I did not attend Shiloh 2024 because Shiloh without Bishop Abioye is somehow,” Melaye said.

“I can’t understand why Bishop Oyedepo, who is older, is not retired, and it is Bishop Abioye who is younger that should be forcefully retired. God did not retire Abioye, only Oyedepo did,” he added.

Bishop Oyedepo had previously advised critics to refrain from questioning the church’s decisions.

He was NOT the only one.... and it didnt start this year.
Several others who joined the church when he joined, but were older than him were also retired years ago and later they start their ministry, yet they all still come for shiloh and keep their honor for the bishop David Oyedepo

So since he has retired, he is FREE to start his own.
Even Bishop Oyedepo's son rumoured to have left, is currently in shiloh, HE NEVER LEFT.... he was only permitted to do his own outreach ministry.

I perceive he left the church unhappy. The man had served the church faithfully for decades. Note: I love pastors(genuine pastors) because the work isn't an easy stuff. Retiring at age 60 is not an easy thing. I urge G.Os to treat their pastors in such away that their retirement would be joyous. I.e They should be a better benefit after retirement. Like Anglican, they usually build a house each for their retired priests and a huge amount of money to manage themselves.

Of course, no one retires from ministry as such. Y'all should understand that retirement in this context is more of church administrational than actual ministry.
Your church history books will teach you that John wasn't administering a church at the island of Patmos. He was a banished there. Even his epistles showed that,in his later years, he retained oversight over his disciples and churches via letters. Right?

Retirement is not from MINISTRY. It's a church administration thing. It's a retirement that allows them to safe tine to do other things especially when they're not as young as they used to be. Why this is a fuss is because it's announced. The Apostles, for instance, "retired" from welfare administration to focus on prayer and the ministry of the word. That's an actual instance that can help
Acts 6:2-4

What is the difference between an Offering and Voluntary Offering? Bro, No difference. An Offering is always voluntary. Secondly, regarding tithing. The purpose of tithing is to solve some monetary problem in the church. JW don't take tithe but they take donations or Voluntary offering.
