Okay let’s pass death penalty for corrupt public officials. Then after some while, when we see how good it works, we will pass it down to average corrupt citizens like the civil service and police for starters.

Corruption in public office is what aids and drives corruption in private affairs.

If public officials, judges, police and elected politicians are not corrupt or exerting a corrupting influence on other organs or agencies of government, you will find that citizens will have a big trust on the law and there will be law and order.

Crime will be less because the organ responsible for tackling crime will be very active and efficient. There won't be hiding place for criminals.

Those who steal their ogas money will go spend their life in jail because they'll be easily caught by the law enforcement...

Those who corrupt public officials and the corrupt public officials should be killed because they pose a serious threat to the larger society. Doing so, you will find a quick return to law and order.

You only need to set an example every year, kill 1-5 corrupt persons every year and give it huge publicity and you'll see the drastic change in society.

This is what these APC clowns simply don't get. Corruption in private affairs is catalysed by corruption of the public officials.
China that gave death by firing squad for corrupt public officials and ten years imprisonment for private corruption don't know what they are doing abi?
These guys generalising corruption to all Nigerians are deliberately muddying the water to defend their corrupt benefactors. If not, why will anyone excuse people who go into public office to steal by claiming the pepper seller also steals by selling rotten pepper?
Look at Yahaya Bello for example. See how much he rubbished the system just to appear in court? Can any pepper seller no matter how corrupt be able to evade justice for so long? While he was carrying out his shenanigans, a Dele Farotimi was ferried from Lagos to Ekiti to face charges on less injurious charges by the same police who haven't seen Yahaya Bello to arrest for a whole year. Just recently, a boy who stole chickens and eggs was sent to die by firing squad while ALMOST all politicians in Nigeria who were convicted have had their convictions overturned for one technical reason or the other including even those who already served their jail terms. Those who the courts upheld their convictions still got presidential pardon. Bottom-line is if corruption stops among public officials, a lot of things will change for the better. They are the biggest catalyst for corrupting the system and the biggest beneficiary of a corrupt system.
Agbadorians should stop this evil of always feeling a need to defend corruption among public officials.
