Nairametrics reported that the sale was blocked by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) in October, even though both SPDC and the Renaissance had reached an agreement in January. This was a repeat of what happened in SEPLAT/ExxonMobil deal before it was resolved through the President's intervention. With recent acquisitions, the Government is working towards its projections of 2.3 million barrel per day. |

| Re: FG Approves Sale Of Shell’s $2.4 Billion Onshore Asset To Renaissance by femisplash(op): 8:50pm On Dec 19, 2024 |
SalamRushdie:A Consortium means an association of two or more companies. Renaissance Group is a conglomerate of local oil companies including ND Western Ltd., Aradel Holdings Plc, Petrolin Group, FIRS Exploration and Petroleum Development Co. and Waltersmith Group. Check the list closely, I know you are looking for OANDO but your eyes would need a lot of straining to do. |

femisplash:This was not how others got their approval. Seplat and Oando's approval were announced by the regulator, NUPRC. Shell is playing political games again. Investors should be very careful. |

Indigenous players are gradually taking over the downstream sector which isn't bad but where are all these funds acceptable from the sale of these assets? |

FreeStuffsNG:. The approval was reportedly given by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri.Whether NUPRC announces or not, was there any infractions or contradictions?. Has it not been legally approved and appropriately announced? |

More than two. Exit of International Oil companies from Nigeria is spelling gradual dwath for the most important industry Nigeria has. Most local oil companies are not forward looking. Except for Seplat.i even cant count seplat as a local coy because they have a foreign partner as part of their consortium. ednut1: |
