[s]he same Group ipob was hoping would assist them destabilize the country is now saying it has no interest in the Mkpurumiri terrorists.

Even the Ijaws whom they once looked up to for support have been turned into their favorite punching bag, with insults flying in their direction daily. Now it appears the terrorist group is cornered and with no allies.

This is why you see them putting up threats and useless ultimatums here and there in the hope the FG would accede to their demands. Such a bad time to be Mkpurumiri IPOB [/s].
IPOB don't need any help from any tribes to destabilise this God forsaken country.... We are solely working towards it effectively on international stage which resulted your Jihadist government to wailed like an infant who is suffering from feed deprivation to the international community..

After the demise of an okada rider who was beaten with juju ring in Oyo state, I think it's better we forget about the Yoruba nation agitation, and focus more on restructuring.
The ugly incident clearly proves if we seceed this country, we go just kill ourselves finish. How could you kill someone for a paltry sum of #50, clearly we the Yorubas are yet to evolve.
I grew up knowing the Yorubas don't like themselves, and uptil date nothing has changed.

Igboho thrown right under the bus in the mud.

Look, in developed climes, the members of the intelligentsia drive conceptual duscussion, research and development. I mean the subject matter specialists in the universities and key professional bodies. But unfortunately here in Nigeria, everyone is focused on "what's in there for me".

Otherwise, why haven't Nigerian Economic Society and Nigerian Political Science Association collaborated to articulate restructuring proposals for Nigeria. That is, select brainy multidisciplinary experts representative of different geopolitical zones to sit down and use their backgrounds, regional interests, wide experiences to work out the BOLT and NUT of how best Nigeria can be restructured politically and economically to make each zone tap into its areas of comparative advantage to become prosperous. I have no doubt, they will easily get funding from outside the country to do this without interference from politicians.

These proposals will published as a document and presented to Nigerian public, National Assembly and state assenlies, ethnic interests organizations, etc to drive enlightenment, engender discussion and serve as a working document.

Afenifere and such concerned organization could inspire or instigate these bodies to create a working document instead of making routine noise that will achieve nothing. Waiting for politicians to do anything is waste of time because they don't know what to do apart from their selfish focus on looting public funds.

Prosperous geopolitical zones translate to prosperous Nigeria.
Well said, but why funding from outside ?
Why will the Nigerian people who will benefit from the debate and drafts be unwilling to pay for it?
Not all foreign funding is our best interest

i did not say Yorubas did fade away even though yhe Oyo Empire has gradually recessed since the Yoruba Civil Wars and the Yoruba -Fulani wars of the 1800s.

i was referencing the fact that in the world, alot of groups and ethnicities have had their cultural identities swallowed up by other tribes and ethnicities thereby making the former dormant.
and more often than not, a period of weak, aimless, short-sighted leadership usually accompanies this gradual, steep descent into oblivion.
I understand what you are saying but will you prefer that Yorubas recessed into empire era, or play permanent opposition politics like we did until of recent?.
I'm happy with the way Yorubas are playing now, at least we are getting some respects and benefits.
Unlike before when we carry Nigeria matter for head like gala. grin grin grin grin
The never do wells that our people claimed to be fighting for, are always the ones sabotaging us, they are the spanners in our wheels of progress.

We don't have 'sincere' Foundations in Nigeria to fund such study and research work. They are political tools to play to the gallery and win elections. Moreover, unless it is for political campaign, most fundraising efforts in Nigeria are not fruitful because most Nigerian will put money where they will get immediate returns and even when such fundraising is successful, accusations of mismanagement (real or imagine) will be made, which will distract from main objective. Governmental funding is out it because pays the piper calls the tune.

But over the're in US or Europe, there are foundations founded tens of years ago with proper structure to fund activities of interest without any ulterior expectations other than results and report of activity. That's why I settled for overseas funding.

I am sure you are aware that most CSOs in Nigeria covering human rights, elections matters, gender issues, etc are silently by HEAVILY funded from abroad annually.

whatever politics we play within the context of Nigeria will always be within the constructs that the Fulani (and British) created. and the plan of both parties is total domination of the entire Nigerian space. how does this work to our advantage especially with very myopic political leaders at the helm?

i believe we are better than this and i believe our culture and heritage is worth protecting at all costs. i also believe we are different from other ethnicities and we need to carve out our own unique identity on the basis of these facts.

Think about it, will you like to support or be friends with someone that sees you as an enemy.

Let's be realistic... whatsoever we say or do, they are consequences, your bad mouth will only get you alienation.
You know your nature, we all know it; so let’s not pretend.

I love Nigeria don't get me wrong but I believe we are too divided to be one country.

I also believe the different groups will attain progress faster than what we currently have.

Nigeria as it is, is not working but if we divide, I will be renouncing my new citizenship.
