SouthSouth1914:Nigeria is not an easy country to rule. The British colonial masters, made us to work and give them our agricultural recourses which they processed in their country overseas. Palm oil is used for many things, medicine, soap, moisturizers... (We only use it to eat yam and make soup). They kept their industries working, providing their people jobs, and adding value to the products, which they sold to make their economy greater. - We killed off our industries and ran our people jobless by importing finished goods from oyibo land. We're still doing it and still destroying our industries and economies. Look at all the backlash just to STOP importing petrol and refine it here and use locally and use our Naira to buy it. Still some BASTARDS are still comparing Dollar $$$ price to our petrol. The petrol is our petrol. What concerns us with dollar? Why can't we just LET THESE OYIBO people GO? Leave them alone. |

If people from the northern parts of Nigeria had ruled for 40 years without meaningful development in the land. What makes development visible in any society is how you lay a premium on developing people to be educated, self sufficient and reliance. Human Capital Development ( HCD) is when you empower people be it on business growths, sponsor or awards scholarship for educational purposes either to technical college, university, polytechnic or colleges of education. To pay for people or you help them to learn appreciateship in a particular skill that can help them to fed for themselves in future. By and large, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Dogara has been in government for some years before he became the Speaker of House of Representatives in the 8th Senates. The budget of his office as a speaker can't be less than 40 Billion naira in a years. Which means Dogara Speakership office had gulped over 160 Billion naira in for years. How many people from Dogara Local Government or his Federal constituency did he empowered while he was speakers of the Federal House of Representatives. Yes northern parts of Nigeria can be described had the capital of poverty home which there leaders contributed due to there inability empowered there people they claimed to represented while in government. But the question remains that what is the jobs of there local Government chairmen, councilors, members of there house of representatives and distinguish senators from these zones including Hon. Yakubu Dogara ?. |

bixton:Look at this one, bring fact! Why do u think Nigerians have been glamouring for decentralization? Who controls the center has control over the following: The executive list which is the core of Nigeria. Controls the police controls the military and all security agencies controls INEC Controls water ways control oil and gas controls the judges Influences the national assembly controls CBN The list goes on and on. That is why the ethnic groups fight blood to take charge of the center. Yorubas and Fulanis have enjoyed this central power for decades but couldnt provide Nigeria ordinary electricty. It was Buhari who decentralized Electricity. It has been in the hands of the central govt for decades. The central govt single handedly took control of Federal universities and determines what should be taught and what should be researched on. They closed down all research centers in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka after the war. What a funny country. Countries develop based on research and science and technology. This one, because of fear of seccession, they closed down researches, limited international access by other regions. The list goes on. Do u think u are discussing with naive person? I am well read and well traveled at my young age. |

Princedapace:Nobody agrees to be naive. Even many of the political leaders and those who have been elected or appointed at one point in governance and admnisration are also well-read and well travelled. I guess the man who controls the center is responsible for developing the rest of the country. Thank you very much. The only difference between the man at the centre and the one at the State or Local government is just the name, title and privileges. But a coconut remains a coconut. Before PMB decentralized electricity as you said, Bayelsa State of now had the Imiringi gas turbine project an independent one running since the days of old Rivers State and that project was generating and distributing electricity to Yenagoa and environs up till PGEJ was in office and Bayelsa State for some political reasons was added to the national grid and the independent gas project went comatose. There was also the independent gas project built in PHC by the Gov.Peter Odili admnisration and it fully because functional under the Gov. CRA tenure and some of it was added to the national grid as we were told. I can't really remember but I think there are other States that had independent power projects before the decentralization of the electricity in the nation. So...... No one can (truly) give what they don't have. |

Bluntemperor:GEJ is from a minority ethnic group and u cant compare 6 years of rulership with that of Yorubas and Fulanis who have ruled this country for more than 50 years. So, what is half truth in it? Yorubas and fulais combined have ruled this for over 50 years |

bixton:Go and ask those states what they saw and huddles they have to pass. So, why centralize such critical infrastrutue in the first place? If not for such useless law, a state like Lagos would have generated enough electricity. Pls, lets not pretend like Nigeria is properly structured. No other country on earth has the type of Nigeria's structure. And Yorubas and fulanis who have ruled this country for more than 50 years could not for once fix this core problem. They kept ruling and couldnt solve national problems such as electrictity. Did central govt even solve electricity problem in Aso Rock? They couldnt. Yorubas and fulanis single handledly destroyed Nigeria with their leadership. As sophiscated people, they should have turned Nigeria to at least be on the same level with South Africa or Morocco sef. lol |

Princedapace:Hurdles are no excuse. In order to get baked garri, the processes involved in cassava planting to harvesting and various stages in getting the desired processed produce is adhered to. It did not take only the tribes you mentioned to destroy Nigeria but all the major tribes as well and all of us. |

I said it few days ago that it s time te North speak the truth to hemselves too fix their region than uneessary chasing presidency that look like a curse to them. Going around fighting Gej, fighting Tiinubu simply they are from the South its a gross miscalculation from the North. 40 good years off and on in power yet nothing to show for it than we must be president by force by force its so ridiculous. |

Princedapace:Stop Defending The Indifencible: -eh,what sort of Weak Defences are you building around GEJ - that because he came from a Minority group? -Are you saying that you need donkey ages to rule before serious impact can be felt by the People of Nigeria? You are not even helping the Minority, then by your suggestions, the Minority kuku make them no seek Power to rule Nigeria, but Gowon was from a Minority group of Plateau State! Power is Power, Minority or no Minority e.g. - Lafeef Jakande, brought Monumental Development to Lagos State,in 1979, during the First Democratic Republic,so also are Bola Ige, - Roads in all the L/ Govts of the State. - Low Cost water Projects, all over the State. - Low Cost Housings- e g Carpenters,Bricklayers,Plumbers,Office Workers, all got Houses,etc- once you Fill Forms ( 1bedroom, 2-bedroom,3-Bedroom,etc) - Health Care Delivery - Aggressive Educational - where three- shifting were merged and some said' na Chicken roofs),etc! But who can come forward -to say they beat the then Governor Monumental Achievements,in Lagos State,as those Others Governors -have been Improving on the Standard laid . All these were done within 4- hrs and Few Months, before Buhari and Idiagbon landed! •If anyone has good plans, you can let the People of Nigeria feel it, within a very short period! Stop giving excuses for people! |
