Weaponization of poverty and religion in Africa is something nobody is talking about

Look at them how they looked well fed. Even that of Ibadan, they were kids whose parents wanted them to experience end of the year party.
They look well fed but died struggling for a measure of rice. Your literature teacher should be help responsible for your poor knowledge of literature.
I would have blamed your logic teacher too. I need not look further than your four credits in three WASCE sittings.

Typical chest beaters.

Oga Peter Obi and other obidient minors, oya come and cry about Tinubu as usual. Come and tell us how it was poverty that led to the stampede.

Those idiots rejoicing and politicizing the Ibadan incident as evident of Yoruba poverty can now hide their faces in shame. This is Anambra, the billionaires capital of SE and people are killing each other over mudu of rice.
I always knew U would bring Obi into the conversation!
And yes....what happened in oyo and now Anambra state is as a result of ill-timed and draconian policies by ur paymasters who never care about the citizens they are leading!
The price of rice is now 120k
12kg of LPG is almost 18k
Other staple food that is always available and affordable to the poor have been tripled ever since previous and present administration came on board!
World bank came up with a report that more than 30 million citizens in Nigeria are extremely poor!
Electricity through a constantly collapsing national grid that is inconsistent but the billing has now quadrupled!
I can go on and on!
As much as I want to blame the organizers of these separate and tragic incidents in oyo and Anambra for not planning well and controlling the crowd properly, more blame should go to the presidency that is responsible for the multidimensional poverty in the country due to their policies!

Funnily, I saw some videos and comments (coming from some ibos) yesterday seemingly mocking the Yorubas over the death of those poor kids. If I was from that senseless tribe, I would be dancing today on hearing this horrendous news. You see, politics have made people to grow so stupid that human lives are now seen as nothing. They littered the comment sections gloating about how the dead children were Yoruba children. Human children o. We can do better as a people to be honest. Hunger knows no tribe or color but some unfortunate entities don’t mind if you die just because they lost an election.
It seems you have not come to terms with the fact that the most stupid and idiotic of Nigerians these days are those with cheap phones and bonus data.

I thought I was talking to someone who is not a tribal bigot
So it's only Igbos that doesn't draw the line. Look at the comments by yorubas in this post and tell me if it's different from the reactions of Igbos in the Osun state thread. Why claiming to be selectively blind. The same bigotry am talking about
Just like I said earlier, I’m not trying to be politically correct. @bolded, if your brain was functioning, you would easily know the reason for their reactions and outburst. Why aren’t your fuuulish self talking about and asking why and what turned them into doing such? I personally wouldn’t gloat over anybody’s death but two can actually play this game really well so keep your emotions to yourself. Hypocrisy is when you don’t address the root cause of an outburst but turn to blame the person at the receiving end for reacting the way he did. I called them what they are because only animals mock others with death. Now crawl back into your burrow

If this happens to be true then there is a great famine that’s before us all. And the government is pretending like nothing is happening.

The Ibadan incident should have made people be weary of large crowds for freebies.

Anything could spark a stampede at such a gathering.
I am blaming the victims for not taking lessons from news of the same fate that had befallen others elsewhere.

The problem with opening the border is that domestic rice production is going to fall, meaning more unemployment.
Speaking English....wat is domestic rice production will fall........huh? Nigerians with over Sabi. Nd trying to sound intelligent whereas na cotton wool plenty for their brains .....

When domestic productions is not sustainable it lead to inflationary spirals such as wage cost push and hyper inflations all of these further necessitate fall In both real and disposable income since the face or intrinsic woth of norminal income hv been wiped off ....

Now if borders are opened it will create room for effective competition of which at the end bring back or correct the disequilibrium of the value of products in the market. The resulting effect in this will be visible in price reductions

For ur unemployment assertions the competition in place will excercabate further entries into the market of products owing to relativeness in price and accessing of goods by different market agents nd competitors....( Employment generation)

Afonjjas are the most dangerous sets of human beings on this planet earth, just pure evil 24/7. Listen Igbos and Northerners, there are no stampede in Anambra and Abuja, as being reported this morning by Afonjas. They are reporting it out of shame of Ibadan stampede and narrative they were hungry people. In typical Afonjja style of gaslighting, to draw other regions into it, they created fake stampede news in SE and the North, using pictures from Guniea and other African countries.
Are you sure you don’t have brain infections?

It's the drum the politicians play for us every 4 years that we dance everyday
They know how powerful people are when united, so they use tribe as the most powerful weapon in their arsenal.
Just that foolishness is the order of the day in Nigeria
I totally disagree with you sir.
The politicians, no matter what they throw didn't say we should lose our humanity.
It is becoming fashionable these days to be stupid and idiotic all in a bid to prove you are more of a tribalist than the other.

Let us call a spade what it is.

It is not the fault of the organizers, the people were not patient and orderly.

But the organizers should learn from this and ensure safety standards are followed. Because when peculiar events are setup, many people will come and they will be desperate because of their suffering.

We know Nigerians do not appreciate order and protocols, so next time, give them a number or do something that will assure them, make sure the people who are waiting have their package seperated and ready for collection, know how many people you will cover for a day, so excess people are not waiting and restless.
The organizers have a fault for not realizing that Nigerians are generally unruly.
Put twenty items down to be shared to twenty Nigerians and you will still see them scramble. It is about our attitude.
During palliatives time, there was stampede even in a university environment where it is only logical that people should conduct themselves very well.
