Sell the thing. I’m used to orthopedic beds. If I sleep on any soft rubbish, na body aches go get me the next day. I’ve used mine for almost fourteen years, and — though it has softened over the years — it still serves its purpose.

Orthopaedic mattress for naija be like wood. I have used the uk and canada ones, they are not as hard and are a bit bouncy.

Good afternoon.... Actually from the pics of the mattress you posted.... Its vitafoam and I want to believe its the mattress in question here

Well if it is.... I actually work in vitafoam and am sorry you had to go through this. That being said, I fault the seller because he/she ought to have recommended a mattress base on your body weight for you not persuad you to buy an orthopaedic mattress. At vitafoam we advise for "buy right" Which simply means buying a suitable mattress base on body weight.

The best thing to do now is to get a Memory topper and place on the mattress

Return it as quickly as u can.I bought same last... omo! sleeping was a nightmare and i also ended up with serious joint pains i had to return it and exhanged it for a normal succulent vitaform

Some hotels used such Akpako mattress hard like plank. Go and change it or buy soft one.

No you're not asking many questions. If you're gonna add more weight soon, then but Vita Haven or Supreme.
First image is normal fabric, while the second is quilted.

But if you're buying either Vita Haven or Vita Supreme, they both come as quilted.

As to the price, I do not know. Someone on this thread mentioned they currently work with Vitafoam. If you're in the South West part of Nigeria, I might only be able to direct you to a nearby store though.

You can return to the seller na!

Ask for semi orthopedic foam...

And there are other cushiony foams...

And besides they don't just recommend you buy orthopedic form...

They will always ask you your budget and howw you want the foam to feeel when u sleep on them...

That will help them advice you on the choice to make...

Mine that is not orthopaedic seem hard to. Although I wake up with the heavier part of my body sunk in the mattress. My body end up aching. Just get a fluffy mattress cover.

Hello Dola, sorry to hear what you're going through with the mattress you bought.

The one important thing most people don't know is that body weight is the most important factor to consider when choosing a mattress, and not everybody needs or will do well on orthopaedic mattress. It is simply TOO HARD for most people.

You currently weight 72kg and have no serious medical issues, you're the perfect candidate for a medium density mattress. Those ones are the perfect balance between firm and soft, and they are made to comfortably carry up to 80kg body weight per individual user. Common examples of these are Mouka Foam Flora, Royal Foam Gallant and Unifoam Onyx Plus.

Two thing you can do with the current orthopaedic mattress you have;

- Sell it and buy something less firm like the ones I mentioned..
- Buy a memory foam mattress topper which is really soft and comfortable, then lay it on the orthopaedic mattress you have (NOTE: the best quality toppers you'd find are quite expensive, they cost above 100k as at December 2024 when I'm typing this)
